I live in NYC and I see a lot of idiots parking. Most of the time what gets damaged are the sides of the front bumper because even idiots can see the front of the car but not its back when they are reversing during parallel parking.

wchoy - there are a lot of cars with these things around these parts.

They're ALL OVER Manhattan and the Bronx... There's apparently a HUGE market for em

I would rather put caked dogshit on my bumpers to protect them personally. They go under several monkiers: Bumper bully, Bumper Badger... dunno, guess most people don't GAF about how their cars look. Too much trouble IMO- Hell I could just slam one of my front floor mats in the trunk and get the same effect

I work in NYC and on my walk from the train, I think "I'd have to get that if I parked here" because EVERY bumper has about a billion dings, even brand new nice cars. I think it might give you SOME protection, people are brutal there. It would be worth the extra 3 minutes of putting them on/off.

I think I would rather pay to replace my bumper once a month than have that thing attached to the back of my car

I'm talking about the front part. The rear part folds into the trunk when you drive. The front is the license plate cover. I did see one on an E90 here last week. It doesn't look good, but if it works, it might be worth it.

The rear bumper bully is something I am getting. Especially since my car stays parked on the street for days at a time. They are everyone around here.

Front bumper protection

Agreed, wouldn't want Bumpshox on the front of my car. Using "4Bumpers" on mine and it works and looks great-has nice lines that echo the lines of my 328i.

I would just let them hit my bumpers so that I can claim insurance and get the m-tech ones.

So to prevent your bumper from being damaged and ugly you put something FAR more hideous on top of it lol.

Yes, I would. I personally prefer placing on of these on my bumper everytime I park than having a million digns on my bumper.

If I had a driveway at home, and a free parking lot at work, I wouldn't want these on either. But that's not the case in most metropolitan areas. I guess you're just trying to say that life is tough for us city folks, and that you sympathise. In which case, you'd be right. But that doesn't mean that these things aren't useful, or that they don't do a great job at keeping our bumpers ding free.

I don't think it stays on the car 100 percent of the time, its stored in the trunk with straps after you park you pull it out.

i think people in NYC or heavily populated streets where people dont know how to parallel park the best, or in parking garages where the cars are packed centimeters away from each other. But i think they keep them in the trunk then take it out when needed. I would definitely use this if I lived in the city.

I bought two of these for GF's Mazda 3, both front and rear bumpers.

She works in Borough Park which has the highest number of orthodox jews who can't drive and park for shit. The way the parallel-park is simple - backup until you hit the car in the back and pull forward until you hit the in the front.
2 years later of everyday parking like that and yes, there's some damage but it's on the corners and very minor. Almost all cars in the neighborhood have slits in their bumpers now (the rubber has worn off long time ago). She was also minor rear-ended in traffic and this thing took all the power of the hit. The guy that hit her had his license plate cut in half and pushed into the bumper.

It's certainly ugly but it works well.

Here it is on my car. Yes I took it off shortly since I parked in garage and never usually drove my car where I needed it parallel park.
