OIL TOP UP help please
Hi guys, about 5 months ago I had to top up my oil, I bought Castrol Edge Professional BMW LL01 5W-30 at my dealer...
However, the warning light minimum oil has come up again last night after I drove home.... I have not had to service the car in between these 5 months.. I am looking to purchase new oil to top up. 1. Can I top up with a DIFFERENT type of oil? Or will this wreck the engine? Eg. I read people are using Mobil 1 Synthetic etc but if the one that's already in there is a different type is this bad???? 2. What is the best oil to use? edit; btw im in Sydney Australia if that makes any difference Any help would be greatly appreciated before the shops close! haha Last edited by orehuf; 07-20-2013 at 08:17 PM.. |

Any good quality fully synthetic of the correct viscosity will be fine for topping up.
