I would like to make a prefatory comment about this thread for context. I did not create this thread. Carlos Mora, of MORR Alloys, a paying vendor/sponsor on this forum, created this thread. He and I posted the first three posts below in his VS8 GB thread. He complained to the forum administrators/moderators and had them excerpt those three posts from his GB and move them over here. Carlos then had me banned from making any further posts in his VS8 GB thread shortly after that.

Given that he did this, and the thread now exists - feel free to post any comments you care to concerning the MORR Alloys VS8 GB here. Cheers folks!

Wow, easy there big fella! You are making an awful lot of incorrect assumptions about what I do and don't know. Now, that's foolish. I am not pissed at all. Far from it. The simple fact is Carlos lied about the price MORR Alloys has charged to gain admission in to this GB - he flippantly acknowledges as much. When some one lies - they are a liar. Liars are unethical. Ergo, Carlos is a liar and unethical. It is that simple. Nothing more, nothing less. And I have a working knowledge of what constitutes defamation and libel and what is not. So I make these statements with great comfort and confidence.

I for one don't like dealing with individuals that are liars and are unethical - I assumed most people feel that way. You obviously don't, that' your prerogative. However, others in this GB that have PM'ed me don't see it as insignificant as do you. What's more, people that tell small lies and are comfortable with it usually are comfortable with the bigger ones, e.g., how and where their products are made and what certifications those products actually possess.

And for the record, I have attempted to move on. In fact, upon presenting Carlos with a buyer to take my spot he demanded full payment for the wheels from the prospective GB admit-tee - up front. Then when I asked him to confirm how much this individual would have to pay - which I did at the request of the prospective admit-tee - Carlos refused to identify the amount. So believe you me, I have tried to move on and would be glad to do so. However, Carlos is under the mistaken assumption that making it difficult for me to make an exit from this GB is fitting punishment for shedding light on his character. He is mistaken on several levels . . . .

Oh well, what you gonna do. Now show us some wheel colors that make us feel tingly inside Carlos!

I've had the opposite experience with Morr Alloys & I'm just a potential customer. Carlos has always patiently answered my pain-in-the-ass questions about his product, in a timely manner.

BTW, if you take a look at the group buy, you will notice that Carlos finally contacted VIA about registering and certifying his wheels last night at 1am. A certification he already claimed to have. I hope the VS7 guys like the phony etching on their wheels, maybe its a good thing those are on the back of the wheel out of sight. So in essence, you should be thanking those who got involved and finally pressured him into keeping his word, without them you would just have a wheel made in a 3rd world country with no safety parameters or certifications that even the cheapest replicas have.

Wow, thank you for pointing that out. I was so blinded by the fact that my wheels are so light, balanced so well, drove so perfectly, have not flinched or bent even after going through countless huge potholes. Now I can base my reality on contrived perception instead of real world experience!

You guys are missing the point. Throw all of the certification nonsense out of the window. The point that I am trying to get across to you is that this vendor lied to you, not once, not twice, but many times. A little thing yes, but nonetheless it has been a pattern of lies. Sure the wheels may hold up, but I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig even with 1000 sets around the world. He has lied about the certification, what makes you think he hasn't lied about the metal material, and build process?

Secondly, it doesn't concern you that even the continent where these wheels are made is disclosed? Carlos claims they are made with some super secret military press with a NDA, that doesn't make you smile? Take your pick on what countries would actually allow their own military press to be used, and it's not the US, Europe, or Japan.

It's your money, and you are free to do as you like. I am merely a person that is tired of vendors speaking half truths and not being upfront. Though I have a low post count, and though I am a smart ass in many of my posts, I have also looked out for the community by taking the time to get involved in issues such as these. Good luck to you all, and I hope you enjoy your wheels. I'm thinking its time for me to go....you're thinking good riddance!

Saw your "farewell" post in the MORR Alloys VS8 GB thread Varise. I think you sum up the "MORR Alloys Monoforged Wheel Fraud" debacle fairly and accurately. And to your, and several others, credit, you got involved and went to the trouble to expose Carlos Mora and his misrepresentations only because you wanted the truth out there.

The bottom line is Carlos Mora has been exposed for what he is - a liar and a fraud. He marketed and sold his Monoforged VS7s using deceit and misrepresentations. He most assuredly was going to do the same thing with the VS8s but he got caught. Recognizing the only way to salvage the GB, his new "Monoforged" company, and restore even a modicum of credibility - he has now committed to and seems to be moving forward with obtaining the wheel certifications he represented his VS7s and VS8s already had.

I hope for the sake of the many good folks that have his VS7s, and will have his VS8s, he finally does what he represented he had done all along. And for his sake, and the sake of his company, I hope Carlos acutally uses this experience to reflect on and make improvements to both his business model and his approach to customers. After all, MORR Alloys does make a gorgeous wheel and the more quality wheel options for BMW owners the better.

P.S. Someone in the VS8 group buy suggested that Carlos should have a psych test for all of those entering the group buy, I recommend an IQ test. This is too easy, many of you are still telling me how great the wheels are, which I understand, my point has never been that they are bad wheels.

Thanks for putting it perspective. We are not questioning the QUALITY of the wheels. For all we care, it could be a very nice wheel, or it could be a very bad wheel. All we are saying is that Carlos failed to live up to the promise to have these wheels CERTIFIED the way he said they would be. That's deceit and unethical business practice.

Calling someone a troll who was initally in the VS8 GB and had questions in regards to the certification of the product, and gets bashed and has its thread relocated...
