366 rwtq That has got to be set up like yours to emulate dynojet numbers. That's exactly the numbers I got on a dynojet with v1.47....EXACTLY (but I was on 92 Octane, not 93 like Flordia has...and all else was stock). Since this was the same Mustang dyno that you dynoed on Gator and you said it was calibrated to emulate dynojet #'s I suspect this run with the Dinan flash was too. If it's not calibrated to dynojet standards like yours was Gator, that would be like 350+ rwhp and 375+ rwtq on a normally calibrated dynojet. That's what PROcede v2.0.2 on 15 psi boost is seeing and what JB2R is seeing on 96 Octane race gas at 14.5-15 psi. |

This purple guy in chicago is just going a bit nuts. I live in chicago, the roads are WET AS HELL and sometimes Snowy as hell. The temps have been between 20 and 38 degrees for the past few weeks. Of course his car is sliding. My stock 335i 6MT started squirling on me last night when I thought it was dry, but it is NOT dry at all. But obviously the car is fast, he is just going overboard about this whole LSD thing, not to mention he is driving on snow tires which aren't going to stick very well when you keep FLOORING YOUR CAR. Apply the throttle gradually to avoid wheel spin.

btw -- on another good note, I guess this also means that this level of TQ must NOT be "tranny killing" after all.

Not if it's calibrated like it was with your car.
Those numbers would be just like a v1.47 or JB2H equipped car. IT's too bad he couldn't of gotten a baseline on that same dyno first. Or we need to see a dynojet dyno of a Dinan flash on a dyno that has run stock and/or PROceded or JB2 equipped cars recently. |

Maybe I can find someone with a Dinan flash in the LA area who wants to dyno his car on December 27th with a few others of us. |

Corrected or uncorrected does not have anything to do how the dyno is calibrated. Most of the Mustang i've used have been calibrated to read like dynojets. This is done by changing the parasitic loss file. Most Mustang dyno operators do this out of self-preservation since very few people will want to use a dyno that reads 15% lower than the ubiquitous Dynojet. Given the numbers, I suspect the same applies to the Mustang Dyno you used. But we won't know for sure unless we see what a stock 335i does on that dyno with those settings. FWIW, this is why I suggest that, if given a choice, using a Dynojet would be a good idea when quantifying the output of the new Dinan flash. It would rule out most of these calibrated variance issues. Bringing "intra-dyno comparison" error down from +/- 15% to just a few %. That said, I'm sure we'll be seeing Dynojet results of the new Dinan flash soon enough. Enough to come to some conclusion at least. Cheers, shiv |
