Question about M SMG Shifter on E90

I am a new owner of a 2011 328ix with the sports package. I understand this is not the same thing as the M package but is it douchy to get the M steering wheel cover and the M shifter? I also plan on getting the M front spoiler lip and the trunk lid spoiler. I need a new shifter and I like the short size of the M5. My main goal is to get a shorter size shifter and while I like the newer F30 shifters, I don't think I want to go that route.
