Thinking of the muffler delete

I've been thinking of doing a muffler delete on my 335i N55,
I went to the dealer and talked to one of my service friends about warranty, he said as long as they don't remove the "catalytic converter and resonator" then ill be good. So is there anything I need for this muffler delete? I've heard some cars shake? Is this a bad thing? Will this happen to my car? Thank you

I did it and like it, actually. Cheapest mod at only $60.

I was in at the dealership last week and the adviser complemented me on the car's sound.

Guess that is why it is nice that we each buy our own cars and can mod as we wish

Ahh, my bad, didn't notice the engine difference. With that said, for my own information what is the issue with an N55 muffler delete?

I had a muffler delete for a year. You won't have any problems with the car warranty or anything of that nature. The reason why everyone is telling you not to do it is because it is obnoxiously loud, and It's a $50,000 car, you should spend some money and get a real exhaust. It WILL make your interior vibrate and rattle at certain RPM's. There will be A LOT of drone all the time! Once I was going uphill and all of my passengers complained about the drone.

It's a BMW not a honda you should't do it but its your car. If you want quality sound I would recommend the BMW performance exhaust. But its not cheap over $1,000 VS $200 for the muffler delete.

Hope this helps make your decision.

Remove all cats and resonators. You should be happy with the sound. It will be a nice start before jumping into the muffler delete.

i had a muffler delete with my 328 and at first i loved it but over time i grew to hate how loud it was and the vibration was to much , currently i have an n55 with a ppk and the exhaust note sounds really good.. i would spend the extra money instead of taking the cheap shortcut imho

I have AR Catless downpipes and have removed my secondary cats and replaced them with vibrant resonators, while still keeping the stock mufflers on my N54, complimented with the wastegate adjustments of the JB4 G5 ISO BOARD, the sound is absolutely amazing! It does not sound loud and obnoxious at all, but when you step on the gas it comes alive. There is no rasp at all and very minor drone thanks to the G5 ISO Board.

N55 has a completely different exhaust tone.

N55 sounds deeper, throatier, growls and snarls at you.

My buddy did a muffler delete on his N54, to me it sounds pretty crappy but he insists it's the best thing ever. It's very loud but that's about it, there's no real "tone" to the exhaust. The sound is super raspy/tinny and it drones horribly when cruising around
