I recently bought my 335xi coupe. It came with 17" all-season tires. I want to put 18" on in the summer. What tires should I get? I have no clue what offset means or anything. The tires on there now are 225/45R/17. The are the same in front and back. Which is strange to me because my G35 coupe was different. I guess because I got the xi it made a difference. Any help would be great.

why awd...you don't need it in chicago....you just needed some good snow tires...anyways... get ps2's for maximum performance and if price isn't an issue..if it is an issue go for the goodyear eagle f1's....go look at tire rack and look at the morr wheels..the new vs8's look hot or if you like the vs7's you can buy mine cause i am buying vs8's now i think...the vs7's are AWESOME though so just let me know...i just prefer the vs8's a lil more!!!!

Is there a big difference between the 18" and 19"? Doesn't seem like that many people go with the 18". What is the best tire for a 335xi coupe? Thanks!

As long as you don't live in a really bad pothole area(Like Me), 19" wheels and tires just look best on the E90/93/93. They seem to fill the wheel well much better. One disadvantage is that there are not many 19" all season tires. If that is not an issue, I would highly recommend going for a 19" package. I went with the General Exclaim UHPs that are very popular with members of this forum. Inexpensive and has great rating from Tire rack, great tread wear, as well pus a M+S rating. There are better high performance tires for the track. But the Generals are a great street tire.

Best tire is debatable, best can be best price, best can be best performance which then can break down into winter/summer, etc, etc. It is really all preference.

We personally recommend and sell a lot of General Exclaim UHPs with all of our wheels.

19s will look the best, but 18 will be slightly lighter for performance. However, the performance you gain from a 18" over a 19" wheel on the street is almost negligible.

I have all-seasons now so not sure how they will handle in the snow. Having an xi I'm sure will help. I really like the 189's but am starting to fall in love with the m6 reps. Either way, I want a summer tire. What tire do you recommend? I will either keep the all-season or go with a winter tire next year, not sure yet. I will defenitly change to a summer tire though. Pirelli PZero RFT or Bridgestone Potenza RE050A RFT. Is that the most popular tire for an E92? Does the xi change anything? Thanks!

Personally, don't run all seasons. Run summer tires for summer and run winter tires for winter.

Do the M6 reps. Have you seen the new time attack versions? They are hot right now, and even lighter than our current standard silver/gunmetal finish M6 reps.

What I would do, given I have the space/etc, is keep your stock wheels and run winter tires on them. Get the M6 or whatever other wheel you like, and run summer tires on those.

The RE050A are very good tires, and you will like them a lot, imo

XI does not change too much, you can run staggered wheels just fine. We have sold a bunch of staggered set ups to XI guys without problems. A search will only reinforce that statement.

So for a winter tire, would this be a good choice? The dunlop sp winter sport. Would the sizes be 225/40VR18 for all 4 tires on a 335xi coupe? This is what tirerack is recommending.

As for the best tires, what are you looking for spend? For affordable, great performance tires that can work in light snow and mud, General Exclaim UHP is a great choice.

You can go with 19" as well, and even get a staggered setup if you want. with the 19's, I'm looking at 19x8.5 w/ 245-35-19. Any wheel with a 5x120 bolt pattern and an offset around 40mm - 45mm will work great.

I'm looking at staggered, just for the looks, with a 9.5" rear wheel. I'll match them up to the fronts (8.5" wheel) by using a 265-30-19 tire on a wheel with ~30mm offset to push the rears out toward the edge of the wheel well. I'm still on stock suspension, and all my research says I won't rub. I'm not planing to lower the car, not my look, but I may go with coil-overs in the spring. Still don't expect to have a problem, even with coil-overs.

I'm running the non-sport runfarts on my 335xi. While they don't compare to a winter tire in the snow, they do fine with the little bit of snow we get in the midwest. Chicago gets a little more than we do, if you have the money, I highly recommend winters. I ran the Dunlop Sport M3 on my e46, and they were outstanding. Dunlop or Bridgestone, either make great winters. I don't have any experience with Pirelli winters, but I haven't heard much good when compared to Dunlop or B-stone.

If you run the winters, the Mich PS2's are great tires, as are the B-stone 050. Most people here seem to run Mich tires, but I generally prefer B-stone.

HUGE difference in look between an 18" and a 19" wheel on the E90 IMO.
