A question for you guys; how much does it cost you for a full service on your E9X?

Mine is due for a full service ASAP and just wondered how much people are paying.

E9x use CBS (condition based service) so I find services are pretty random time wise as they depend on your driving. Std service usually cost around £110-£130 and the big one (3rd oil service) usually around double as it includes more parts/fluids. If you get a safety check they usually charge around £80. Obviously this is not dealer price. I use a local BMW specialist with the usual ex BMW techs with a million years experience between them.

I have bought all the genuine parts required for my 3rd oil service myself with a small discount and have been quoted £200 all in for labour (includes labour for brake fluid change too) through main dealers for all this (oil change, micro filter, air filter, fuel filter and brake fluid change). Does this sound right to you in your view?

As mines a 2006 335d, do u think I should continue to maintain full BMW service history or best to go to s well reputed Indy? I had a thread open and thought ill go with the stealers however the stealers cannot service my car on Saturday and I'm absolutely unable to get to them during the week until mid dec (obc says get done ASAP)... Whereas my Indy is down my road and free at my disposal lol. What would u say!? Will Indy stamps devalue my car should it come to resale time?

Price sounds good to me for all that at the dealer. As far as car value with main dealer service history, I think that all depends on your buyer. I wouldn't be put off by a BMW specialist indy at all. A general indy who deals with any and all cars wouldn't instil the same amount of confidence as they might not know BMW's as well and pick up on faults/signs before hand.

But saying that, do BMW dealers do a full vehicle check in the 3rd oil service? You usually have to shell out and extra £80 for the privilege. So unless you pay for that, an oil service is an oil service.

My dealer claims that unless the OBC is specifically asking for microfilter and fuel filter and air filter then it won't need doing, even on the third oil change, is this true?

Filters are set on (IIRC) a 2 year replacement, so unless it's been 2 years since they were changed then they won't show as needing doing.

There is nothing stopping you asking them to change them early while they have the car, and reset the timer though, the filters are only a few quid each.
