Thoughts on fair price for this 2007 335i? About to pull trigger

Been going back and forth with owner....only got him down to $24,500 and he's not willing to go lower. Car is more for fun and not a need....just drive occasionally. Does this seem like a fair deal? He keeps pointing to KBB values. No warranty but his wife drove it thus the low miles. When I drove it looked in great shape.

Wanted to get it for $24,000 but guys won't budge. Did yours have CPO or extended warranty? Other than the fuel pump I would hope no major potential problems till hits 50k miles but that makes me nervous

Tires are okay and battery just changed 10/12 so that's good. Will do oil and air filter on my own if I can figure out how to get the car elevated safely.

If $500 is really in between you getting the car or not, you probably shouldn't get it.

That is a great deal...

Any other thoughts appreciated. Nada trade in value is about 24k....anyone know about what a dealer would really give for this on trade in...guessing 22k cause of the low miles.

The pics and info provided indicate a very nice car for the money. I would not be too concerned about $500 if it is that nice. I would ask about service records and if they all look like the car has been taken care of - go for it. A car like that with low miles is getting harder to find.

Looks like a great deal for a fully loaded car to me. Kinda shady that such a nice car is on Craigslist though... I'm always weary of buying from there. But, get it! There's something about black

Okay thanks for thoughts....low miles and great shape so I'll pull the trigger. Will be our "weekend" car so anticipate miles will remain pretty low....3-4K a year.

Any rule on how often you should drive it to avoid issues....once a week or so at least?

Guy is pulling the plates which I'm okay with. He wants to removed registration sticker too?? I emailed him and said no for that. I've sold cars before and left both the place and stickers on. Anyone have experience first hand about this?

If he removes plates how can I drive it home? Won't cop pull me over lol

Why would he leave the registration sticker and plates of his on a car he sold? It's the buyers responsibility to find a way to transport the vehicle back to their place, not the sellers.

Can't help you on how to get it home; talk to your DMV about how to obtain a temporary tag or similar.

Seller retaining plates and registration sticker makes sense if his state requires turning them in to cancel the registration or to transfer the plates to a replacement vehicle. That's how it works in Georgia, albeit our registration sticker is affixed to the license plate rather than the window. When I've sold cars or motorcycles, I retained the plate and either turned it in to the DMV or transferred it to my new vehicle.

Plus - if I sell a car and leave the plates on it, guess who gets any parking or red light tickets...

Plates I understand but not registration sticker. Texas has a website where you register that the car has been sold and you are not responsible for anything after that.

Why would you need his registration sticker?

The only reason I see is if you want to remove the sticker a certain way to avoid a sticky substance, etc...but you have no right to that sticker. If I sell a vehicle, I do not want anything remotely linked to me that has to do with identifying the vehicle. I'd be less strict with a relative, but a random buyer...he or she better coordinate how to take home that car legally.

use this link

https://www.thinkbank.com/black-book...le-pricing.php

If you buy at 24.5 you are starting about 1.5k underwater without tax. If you really like it and don't mind spending a little extra, then I would get it.

If you are looking for a great deal, they are out there to be had, just have to be patient.

Good luck

The car that the OP is looking at is worth $27k on the site you listed. And that's still without factoring the countless other options that are not listed on that site.

The options are ignored because they do not increase the value on a wholesale vehicle. Look at the finance advance on that car. Its 23.5k. Thats the number thats important. the bank will only lend you what the max the car is worth.

Thanks for that website....basically I'm paying roughly 1000k over trade in which I think is acceptable. Retail on it is over 26k
