Add me to the list - HPFP
Hey guys just wanted to share my story. Car has been in service since Monday and they replaced the pump with the latest 943 pump. It "failed immediately" according to my SA so they are opening a PUMA case and replacing some injectors and coils on Monday. I'll update this thread when I get more info.

yeah, I will be demodding this weekend and off to the stealership. Did you throw any codes, or just long cranks? I threw 12223 (Fuel Pressure at Injection Release) today, not sure if that is associated or not.

I had the 2FBF code and some codes about knocking that disappeared before I had it towed and low oil codes. I feel like I'm being yanked around by my sa about the oil consumption. I've been through over half my oil in under 6000 miles according to the computer and my sa says it's normal.

Wow, three weeks is ridiculous. Have they been updating you on what the hell they've been doing? I doubt their just changing the hpfp, when I got mine replaced it took one day.

Actually, they have been downright terrible about updating me. I have to call them every couple of days and they seem really dodgy on the phone and irritates the hell out of me because my car has been there for so long. As if my HPFP story couldn't get any more ridiculous, I was told today that they replaced a bunch of parts including oxygen sensors or something and the car still isn't working right. I can never get a straight answer as to what exactly isn't working right though. They said that they are waiting for a BMW engineer to come take a look at it the 16th. Best case scenario I will have been without my car for over an entire month. Any advice on what to do in this situation guys? I just can't believe this is happening to a brand new car. (It's a 2010 with less than 6000 miles.)

I'd call BWM and demand to speak to someone as high as you can go....and tell them what's going on......they owe you something after keeping that long....that's rediculous..

I talked to BMW today and they are contacting the dealer to get some information to consider a buyback. I was thinking of getting a 535i but I just read a thread about a guy with wastegate rattle and a failed fuel pump. Not really sure what to do at this point. I really love BMWs current lineup but I can't afford to have an unreliable car.

They probably scrued up a software update. Did you at least get a loaner until you get you car back?
