Beating on Vettes
I'm racing at the NCCC Autocross this weekend, here in Huntsville. There are two of us, non-Vettes running at the event (other a Caddy with a V8, not sure which one). The Vettes are on their own points and championship system, and we just run as a exhibition class. My times in the 335i were 2nd fastest, and I missed FTD by just .423 secs, and FTD was a Z06 on Hoosiers. I found leaving it in DS and just driving was my fastest time of the day. Tranny did just what I would have done in any given situation, except its smart enough to start in 2nd and avoid wheel spin. Leaving in M1 and shifting manualy is more photogenic, but not quicker. Get to do another 14 runs tomorrow, which will be much colder and their Hoosiers will be useless.
Fastest morning run, fastest afternoon run. |

And a 3rd fastest time today. Me on Ventus R-S3's, most of them on Hoosiers. Vette's are lighter with tons more power than my stock 300. They were shocked.
