Dealer installed rom updates

When the dealer reflashes your ecu with latest software, does that automatically update the rom? Or is the rom update, sometimes required for accessport installation, another, separate procedure?

thanks.

Come back in 6 months. It will have gone from "extremely soon" to "extremely incredibly soon".

If I knew it was gonna be like this, I would have gotten a JB4.

Yeah, this time was even extremely soon instead of the soon they have been saying for the last 6 months. This is why I am going JB4 next month instead of Cobb.

Things definitely took longer than I was hoping, but everything is up now. You will need to do a full uninstall and re-install with the new firmware as the old maps are not compatible with the new DME logic we've used. No need to transfer the maps, when you install with the new firmware, they will already be on the AP.

I looked at the release notes and that the new DME logic is really the only difference. Can you go into some more detail as far as what that really means in terms from V1 to V2.

Much better boost/load control, more discoveries for timing and fuel. Basically we were able to refine the tunes greatly with all of the new info we discovered. Power output is going to be about the same, but everything should feel much better. We have more control over the throttle closures as well. Also, the v100 maps are incompatible with Accesstuner and the new firmware, so you will need to update and move to the v200 maps for any pro tuning (with ATP) or personal tuning once ATR is released.

Awesome....can't wait to load it onto the car. So I installed the new beta firmware on the AP and you said that all that needs to be done is do a uninstall of the tune and the new maps will be on the AP for a direct reinstall? Just want to make sure.
