increased tire life

Hi

Before I get flamed for this post I would like to tell you that the pricing of 19" tires is too much here in India and tire import has been banned by the Indian Govt. so having them shipped from US

My front tires are yoko s-drives 235-35-19. The looked pretty fine on the outside but were wearing on the inside. So I took it to the tire shop and swapped the left tire to right wheel and right tire to left wheel.

So I am looking at some more healthy mileage on those almost gone tires .

BTW tire unmounting, mounting and balancing costed only $30.

Thanks

Isn't this why people rotate tires? Unless your insides are completely bald and you're basically running on half slicks.

You may not get the increased tire life you are expecting. Once a wear pattern is set into a tire, it will continue that pattern. It is no longer a flat even surface. Even though it is slanted, swapping where the slant sits doesn't change the fact that its there. Camber pushes some of the force to the inner corner of the tire, but the majority of the force acting on your tire is downward force. Your camber will continue to press on the thicker inside edge now, but the worn outside edge will still continue to wear faster from the downward force acting on it.

Thanks for the tip. I will monitor them. I am lowered on kw v2 so there is a little more camber than stock.
