dropped my car off at 9:30 and got the call that is was ready around 4:30. i have no idea if the car was started on right away or if it sat for a while. from what the installer told me it was just as simple as all the other LSD's he has done on this car.
i payed 450 total for install including 2 OEM seals and Redline fluid. so far i put 100km on the car for the break in and everything seems just as it did before! |

I PM'd the Mfactory guys, and they have a set-up for the welded diff guys in the works.
I'm starting a list for the welded MT diff. Welded MT Diff: 1. Drewkansan 2. 3. 4. 5. |

Isn't the bolted list supposed to be different from welded? I think @Drewkansan said he is welded.

There are currently 3 other members on the small bolted AT list.
For the 20% discount, we require a group of 5. Once we have this, I will PM everyone on the list with our payment details |

Is the large bolted filled? I'm already on the list, just wondering that's all can't wait to install and give a review of your product! |

So if I'm reading this correctly, its $800 shipped for the diff with group buy price?
I just got quoted $475 + seals and fluid for install from Unitrax. Thats $1350 installed for an LSD. Mind blown. |

I have an e90 08 auto, how do I know the date or production? I want to jump in on the Group buy. Also, are you sending the whole diff out with it installed then, I am sending my old diff back?

If you have an 08, then you have the AT small bolted.
The group buy is for the LSD only; not the entire pumpkin. After receiving the LSD, you will still need to find someone to install it for you. |

The differential is just a component inside the housing. It's mounted onto a plate basically that's also in the housing. Provided you have a bolted differential, not welded, they are selling you just the new differential. You will pay an installer to open up your differential housing. Unbolt the stock open differential from the plate inside there. Bolt back up the new limited slip differential of your choice. Adjust the lash accordingly. Then reinstall the housing with new seals and also refill the differential fluid. There's no reason to send in a core in this circumstance. That typically applies to "welded" differentials because the limited slip is welded to that plate. Your average auto shop is not able to "undo" those welds and also modify the stock plate to accept a bolted-on solution differential instead. So those services require you to either send in the differential with the welded plate, for them to prepare the internal components, or sometimes they offer a service where they will deliver an entire housing and ask that you return your as a core charge. This is purely due to the added costs of parts for the housing itself and also the internal plate. |
