Need help have a leak

Hi guys just noticed my car has a slight leak, Its a brownish colour fluid, Its coming from behind this rubber piece in the top left of the photo, Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

depending on location it sounds like either power steering or automatic transmission fluid if its an auto.

That's the rear diff is it not? Only thing with oil that I know of there is the diff, unless its coming out the breather or possibly fuel? Depends I imagine you would smell fuel. Diff oil stinks aswell though

not had a look up there on mine in detail but from memory is that rubber bit a vibration absorber? I think this bolts onto the diff. through the subframe but I can't see how it can be diff oil...could the rubber bit be leaking something?

here we go http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E9...rive_output-2/ no.5 is the rubber bit so I can't see it being a leaking differential, yours looks dry as a bone.

Exhaust joint leaking dirty water?

Possibly just dirty rusty water run - off from somewhere?

There is nothing else in that region.
