Michelin or Falken?!
So I'll be getting my Forgestar 18s in a few weeks time and I'm an impasse where tires are concerned. I love my Falken ZIEX 912 AS tires on my stock set up right now, but going through Tire Rack, I'm really liking the Pilot Super Sport line from Michelin as it's the highest rated. I would like the FK452s from Falken, so what do you guys think? I know there's a lot of PSS lovers on here, haven't heard much praise for Falken's product.

100% go for the Supersports, I've used the Falkens, and although they are a decent tyre, the Michelins blow them away, especially in the wet. I'm extremely impressed with the PSS's, and I've used many different tyres inc semi slicks DZ03G's, R888's, AD08 Yoko's etc.

I'm going for weight savings too, so the PSSes are looking real nice even though they're 1-3 pounds lighter than the FK452s. Gotta check with my Middle Eastern tire guy on pricing later this week.

That's a good way to put it haha.
OP - If you can afford the Michelins, you will not be disappointed. I am running FK452s right now and I don't really like them.

+1 to everyone above. PSS is very very impressive. Almost as good as some extreme performance summer tires i have tried which includes Falken RT615k, Bridgestone RE-11, Dunlop Direzza Z1, AD08. Yes, all of the above is stickier, but the PSS can almost match those performances on the track for me. The PSS also lasts much longer, better wet braking and performance (besides the RE-11 which is phenomenal in the rain).
All in all, the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is a winner for me. Cost a bit more, but probably better in every single other ways. Good Luck!

I'm rolling on FK452's right now and they're ok, but I'm not impressed in any way. Sometimes if I make spirited turns like off ramps for example, they don't feel like they bite into the asphalt well and forget about a wet road, I'd be drifting at that point. Continental Extreme Contact DWS's for me towards the end of the year.

Just put a set of 19" Falken FK453s on my wagon and really like them.
Had 452s on previous cars and thought those were decent, but the 453s seem much nicer. Can't comment on the Michelins as I refuse to spend $1500+ on a set of tires I can't rotate (staggered setup). Just my $.02. |

Looks like I'm going with the PSSes, now I just gotta shop around for them locally, but best deal so far seems to be on Tire Rack and BWT(Ebay vendor).

If BWT carry the size you need online, get it from them. They usually offer free shipping and THE lowest price online. Tirerack charge for shipping and prices usually are not as competitive. However, I do believe that tirerack have those cashback credit cards promtions that BWT do not have. Good Luck!
