Hello - new 2009 328i xDRIVE owner

Hi All -

First, thanks to all that have contributed to this site. I'm a long time reader, and learned enough from this community to feel comfortable moving into the e90 world, from the Subaru WRX and VW TDI world.

Below is a photo of my new-to-me 2009 328i xDRIVE sedan, with MT.

Mileage is high (~75k), so my first DIY will likely be a new water pump, thermostat, and maybe radiator hoses and reservoir tank. Although, I have to admit, I'm not sure if the hoses/reservoir tanks fail as often as they did on the e46...

Beautiful Car... Now get to work lol...

75K is not high mileage and I'm haven't seen a lot of water pump failures in these, so you might just be throwing mod money away replacing those.

E90Company - thanks...I hope to replace the pump soon, although still debating if it's worth investing in a new radiator reservior tank, radiator hoses, and coolant flush.

bumere90 & chuddism - I'm glad to hear your comment of encouragement regarding the mileage. From what I've read, if I take proper care of the car, I can expect to make it past 150k miles. You know, I got my 1999 VW TDI well above 200k, and when I sold it, it was still going strong. I know that's a diesel engine, but seems these e90 engines are strong.

ICanHasBoost - I picked it up at Volvo of Danbury CT, for ~$16995. Fair price I think.

dd243372 - definitely hope to get some more pics up this weekend :-)

Welcome, nice car. I would just put the money aside for those new parts and let the old ones run, the water pump may never fail, but the new one may!

Again, thanks for all the love on this post; after a few weeks of driving, car feels fantastic.

I'm pleasantly impressed with the smooth powers in all gears, and overall the car feels great. With proper care and maintenance, I see a long term relationship in my future

Also, Speedwagon, regarding the water pump, I've gotten some great guidance from Efthreeoh and ENINTY, and I purchased a Bavarian Tool and confirmed I have no water pump faults. So, I won't be replacing it for now, but will attempt to monitor its health in the thread below.
