Hey if im using stage 0 with 93 octane what percent should it be at? Also, I dont know what to put on my first and second gear percents.. Can I go higher then the 85 percent you said is good for 93 max? Thanks. Seems really grunty downlow so far. Its been raining
Oh yea, im not making 14.5 boost at all times anymore. Does that mean I can raise values? Or is that just stage 0 boost psi? More like 13 huh? I think the settings are: 1st gear 85 2nd gear 85

I got a chance to try these maps and firmware last night in the rain and today in the cool dry air. For the runs, my car was stock save a Helene drop-in and the V3. Ambient temperatures were in the mid to low 50s and I was burning Shell's finest 91 octane fuel. Mine is a post-29.2 car, 31.1 precisely.
The good: very snappy low end, strong and smooth top end. Traction is always an issue in first and second. The not-so-good: I found the throttle-to-boost mapping too aggressive, i.e. too much boost for a given throttle input. I witnessed ~8psi (close to max stock) at approximately half-throttle in the upper rev ranges (peaked at ~14psi full- throttle). Some folks might prefer this kind of response, but to me it made going from half-throttle to full-throttle feel somewhat flat. In addition, I had to modify my driving style somewhat to accommodate the "early" thrust. Ideally, production maps will have less of the "not-so-good" while preserving the "good". My Tune History Ever since I joined this community (a few months before picking up my car) I'd been yearning for a Vishnu tune. The buzz surrounding Vishnu's latest was always nigh irresistible. The barrier to entry for me was always price. So, while I pined away and shopped for a used PROCede, I ran JuiceBoxes of every ilk (yes, all the way back to the TerryTuner). Finally, in the first week of August, I sated my Vishnu jones with a used PROCede (V2) and a new PnP V3 harness. I was one of the first production PnP customers. I had some issues with the early versions of V3: high-boost-high-RPM bobbles, less-than-advertised peak boost, one SES instance (probably due to an incomplete firmware update), and general COMS flakiness when datalogging and flashing. I was receiving some spotty support for these issues from Vishnu when the JB3 became available, so I swapped out the V3 for the JB3. So, until yesterday, I'd been running the JB3 (one of the 1.2 betas). Tune Comparison I think it's probably too early to tell. JB3 1.0, 1.1, and the 1.2 betas have shown steady improvement. The issues some have had with partial-load thrust oscillation should be bygones soon, and the lagfix maps have low-end response that's very similar to this V3 demo, which shows real progress from August. If you're on the fence, wait a month for the next round of reviews. Last edited by doofus2; 12-19-2008 at 03:29 AM.. |

Wow! Not sure what else to say. I've read the 9 pages of posted reviews and I don't know what other value I can add because I agree with all of the good stuff. This update is amazing! Power is smooth and delivered strong. I feel like a broken record when talking about Shiv's tune updates because each is incrementally better but this tune seems to the the biggest update yet. Hard to really let lose with this damn rain though
Instead of flying to L.A. next week, I'm considering driving now! |

The DareDevil from Quebec used to enjoy racing a lot.
Without a reliable engine there would have been very little for him to enjoy

wow!!! Can't wait till Monday for these NON-DOOMSday maps, I love the new maps but for some reason its making my exhaust seem louder than normal...I am hoping that the Non doomsday maps will make my exhaust sound like the old 11-14 maps! Maybe it just in my head though, but I love the performance of the demo doomsday maps, can't imagine the non ones!

Both the Radio Shack and the Tripplite adapters work well. Both are available at Radio Shack, but the Radio Shack model comes with a 6ft cord so you don't have to buy an extension if your planning on putting it into your glove box which is highly recommended.
