Ticking and Hard misfires
2009 335i. 72k
https://youtu.be/toOMT67RNG4 https://youtu.be/pM5_3PX8bjc Was getting misfires codes on cylinders 1 & 3 pretty regularly. Seperately, but sometimes together. Could pull over and clear the codes and drive again until the misfires appeared again. Which seemed random at first. The car would have strong days and weaker days. A ticking noise under load has also gotten worse. Based on the initial misfires I've replaced all 6 coils and plugs hoping to cure the the problem but it made no difference. Lately there is a faint beep/whine associated with the misfire. Planned to chase injectors next but the car is actually driving worse now so any insight is appreciated. Thanks In advance. *sorry for any typos/grammar. It's late and I'm On my phone* |

small update
after the new coils and plugs the car threw a code for an 02 sensor after the cats. I've seen this code pop up then disappear before. and it did the same thing during my test drive (appear, cleared it, never came back).
post cat o2 sensors wouldn't cause this big of a problem would they? could something else be causing them to throw a code? |
Appreciate
