Deer vs E90 @ 65 mph
Well driving to work at highway speed the buck pictured below happened to wander into my lane. I wasn't able to avoid him and the damage is pictured below....
There is considerable damage under the hood and I could hear the engine knocking afterwards. I got it towed to Daniels Collision in Allentown and am patiently awaiting my insurance to do the tear down. Any input on speculative damage would be appreciated, or for reviews on Daniels. Thanks to my BMW I walked away unharmed, the deer didn't fare the same fate. |

At least you're okay!
Reminds me of spring break when I was on the I-5 heading south, a coyote ran onto the freeway and I had to slam on my brakes and pull some nascar-evasive maneuvering to avoid hitting it going about 90mph.

Thanks, I loved that car...
If you look at the pictures it really shows how much damage was done to the radiator, intake, and even the engine cover. I'm curious what insurance says about the damage since the blue book is just under 20k. |

Damn deer took of the headlight washer cover!!!!! Surprised there wasn't more blood. At least your OK considering that it looks like the deer rode up your hood and onto your windshield.

ouch.
I live in a deer heavy area myself... every day i come home from work, i come over this hill with a sharp drop off (speed limit is 50 there) and the fear of having a deer just standing there in the middle of the road haunts me every time... :/ but, i guess that's what insurance is for... Do you plan on convincing the shop you can get upgraded parts for cheaper or do you want them to just do a complete OEM repair? |
