Would you recommend replacing any or all gaskets? If so, which gaskets?

Never had an issue without replacing them . With that said i leave it up to the owner to decide . Only gaskets i would consider would be the intakes (6) of them but majority don't.

I saw your 135 when Carl was replacing my windshield. Nice ride(although the orange wheels would be too much for me..lol!). Carl is indeed, the BMW Grand Master of the PNW.

This is a newbie question, but how do I go about checking to see if I need this done? Do I need to take the intake manifold off and look into the intake ports?

My car has 64k and I doubt this has ever been done. I'm getting a cyl 3/4 misfire so I'm wondering if this might be the culprit. I know the hpfp, coil, injector, or plugs might be causing it as well but considering this probably hasn't been done I might as well have it done as preventative maintenance if nothing else. The car runs fine it just takes a little longer than it should to start.

Cwarren could you pm me your contact info?

If it's never been done, it needs to be done. Its inevitable.

I will definitely vouch for Carl and his services. I just had him replace the water pump and t-stat this past weekend. And a couple of weeks ago he performed the walnut blasting. His attention to detail is awesome. It's like having a surgeon work on your car. And if you're on the fence about the walnut blasting, it makes a difference. The rough idle and hesitation were instantly gone. Props to Carl for his services and what he brings to the BMW community. I appreciate it.

Hey Mario, it was nice meeting you man! You have a sweet jet black E90. I'm also going to have Carl walnut blast the intakes pretty soon and wouldn't let anyone else do it. 👍🏻
