And JB4 has an Autotune map that automatically figures out your mods and E85 content and adjusts the tune accordingly. When you add mods the car tunes itself to increase the power. Very cool feature.

From BMS website "Map 5: Autotuning map. Boost ranges between 12-17psi based on your cars octane, conditions, and modifications. Fully E85 compatible. If using E85 we suggest around 30-40%."

Yes! BMS claims it adds 80HP to a completely stock car.

Used DCI usually goes for around 50~70. But that price seems fair.
What kind of tune does your friend do with a laptop for $300??
Just like Sean said, you could buy a JB4 for that price.

I've had both JB4 and COBB and I stuck with COBB because of their EXTREMELY easy installation, consistency and smooth power delivery but aggressive when power is needed.(not saying JB4 installation is hard. I took it on and off the car numerous times for comparison with COBB AP)

I did a pull with my buddy this past weekend and I was front of him by a car and half length. (50 mph roll start)
My buddy has JB4 on map 5 70/30 e85 mix (aFe intake, BMS DP)
I have COBB e85 OTS Race map 60/40 e85 mix (BMS DCI, BMS DP)
Keep in mind I have DCT - 335is.

If you are going to spend any money, I say spend money on a tune first. Either JB4/COBB.

Good luck!

Yea I am thinking ill just buy a new intake for $30 more. It's not that much for a new vs used.

As for the jb4 I want one just can't spend that money ATM due to some stuff I bought and am buying for the bike to kinda wrap it up. I want to buy one and run the auto map. As for the whole Cobb vs jb4 I read goes both ways. Idk yet

If your just running stock or just intakes with just 93oct map 1 feels like it makes more power. I have yet to run e85 (e70 right now). Map 1 runs a little more boost then map 5 on my car with just dci and jb4.

Both tuning JB4/COBB is undoubtedly great for our N54 engine.

It's matter of your preference.

Yes, both work great. And, they're both proven to do great things. Both will have different pros and cons. Hate to say it, but it's like coke and Pepsi to me.

It looks overwhelming to some. It's really simple. Just follow the step by step instructions.

I'm really busy these days with my daughter and building a house. Later in the spring if you haven't installed it I have no problem helping you.
