I dunno how some people like the sound of rasp!

I dont think so but you can try to see if there is a straight run of your midpipes and measure at least 21 inches of clearance. I highly doubt it with all the bends of the exhaust

hmm just wondering the 1792 is a 3.5 inlet/outlet so obviously that won't fit the stock exhaust...

the 1790 is a 2.25 inlet/outlet but it looks nothing like the picture you posted in your OP... do you think it will work the same? it looks like a slimmer version.

Yes 1790 is for stock piping which requires a 2.25 piping. Remember your midpipes are smaller so the amount of cubic air flow coming through into the piping will be proportional to the size of the resonators. It will work identically to the 1792. I wouldnt worry about that.

Cn555ic - thanks for making this thread, very informative and I appreciate your time to maintain it alive...

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a pair of 1790...trying to kill the rasp my c-PE catless DPs + the "is" exhaust produce.

Question: is there way to keep the 2nd cats and install the 1790s? Normally, taking out the 2nd cats makes the exhaust louder and even less controlled...bottom line, would you want to keep your 2nd cats?

I know you directed this at CN, but i can tell you from personal experience that they will not fit unless you remove the factory cats, there is just not enough room on the E92 exhaust.

Not true, I have 1790 installed on my stock e92 exhaust along with secondary cats.

Wow - thanks for sharing this! So how do you like the set up? I suppose as long as you put them in, you'll kill the rasp, or it DOES matter the placement? Btw, do you have DPs as well?

Like Lulz said, great work - who did you have this perform, your standard muffler shop like Midas or something? I asked a Midas like shop for a quote to replace the 2nd cats with the Vibrant - response was around 1 hr of work. Was this custom work?

Petrolwerks in Long island did this and they are not even a muffler shop lol, yes it kills all the rasp and even some pops and gurgles on low rpm so your car will be super quiet after this unless you are really pushing it or in DS. I have AR dp's and I alternate between Eisenmann race and BMW PE exhausts, depending on the mood and weather lol.

xxnick - this looks to be a replacement to Vibrant 1792, with 2.5" inlet/outlet so you'd need couplers since our midpipes have a 2 1/4" diameter (which is what 1790 is).

stole this video from Rotorocious and I think it's an amazing sound for a stock exhaust AND catless DP's...

iirc, he managed to fit the 1792 (2.5 inch in/out) on the stock exhaust piping. would love to see a pic of the setup haha

I heard X-ception exhaust and it's actually sounds perfect. A little louder than mine but definitely cleaned out the sound for sure. Zero rasp! It sounded like crap prior to resonator install! Lol. It pretty crazy how something so simple can effectively tune an exhaust and make it sound so good.

Damn that's a lot of precision cutting there! Why did they use heat wrap on the welded ends? Did they weld them or just use clamps?
