Shadowline Delete Option?

Is it possible to order to '09 Sport Package without the Shadowline trim??

I know most people are looking forward to the new trim but I prefer the chrome.. i figure it shouldn't be too hard for BMW since they still manufacture the chrome trim.. the dealer would simply have to make a special note during ordering

has anyone has experience deleting the shadowline trim? or know of any dealers which have?

i really don't want to have to shell out $400 bucks for chrome trim after the fact

why not get the car with the shadowline trim, and then after, swap it with someone here who wants the shadowline trim and have them pay for labour or even do it yourself..

of course his/her trim has to be in perfect condition like yours

this way you can make someone on the board realllyyy happy as well as yourself..

just thinking aloud...

otherwise, yeah i'm sure you could get your dealer to make a special note.. should be a no-cost option.

get the shadow line and trade with those who are local to you. I'm sure THEY WILL PAY YOU MONEY, NOT YOU PAYING MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET FOR IT. I'm guessing $3~400 + labor and you will have plenty of guys line up for it, since brand new one cost close to $1k

I don't blame you for wanting this. IMO the chrome looks better than shadowline on darker colors, and who needs the hassle of swapping it out?

window lining can only be used once.. just bought new shadowline for my 08... replaced the chrome... unfortunately there is no way it can be reused.... it bends while being taken off... sorry

^i have heard this as well. i think on the e46's you could swap but not e9x's

i've heard of people on the forums doing it very delicately and pulling it off intact

i believe the lower piece just sits but the upper piece uses adhesive.. i guess i'll just have to see what the dealer can do for me
