Welding new tips on?

I wanna weld some bigger tips onto my 330i. I like the look of the back but it would look a lot more aggressive with some bigger tips. so i have a question.

I want to retain the valve the opens and closes between the rpms, from what i've read, this allows back pressure and w/o it, it results in a loss of power.

so whats the best way for a muffler shop to weld new tips on while still retaining the valve?

I'm sure if they cut a small portion of the exhaust tips off they can reweld on some 3in tips (like the BMW performance exhaust) without any problems.. u can then sell your OEM 330i tips for about 30-45 bucks to make up for the cost.

35-40? I sold mine for 20 shipped, haha

Our stock tips are pretty much if not 3", thats my MD (for the 2.5 days I had it before I went back to stock, MD sucks) with 3" dual magnaflow tips. It'll fit fine into the stock exhaust cutout. You could do 3" single pipes, it can be done by any competent welder. The Magnaflow tips looked a little bigger.

just go to a shop that you trust and they can look to see what will work and what won't
