I would say ACT is your best clutch for the money. I bought mine from clutchflywheel.com. Their price is untouchable, and the buying experience was pleasant.

OEM clutch is not suitable for a Stage 2 car, if you launch the car from a standstill. It does not hold the torque. It will slip at launch, but it will not slip in 3-rd and 4-th gear. The clutch plate just cannot hold that torque.
I read good things about ACT Street and that's what I will get next. It's very well priced and there are some good reviews on the forum. |

Hey AR, what comes in the kit and what would you recommend in extra purchases when installing a new clutch?
I've read that the OEM alignment tool is needed, but each kit comes with one right? |

I need to double check once our shipment gets in. I had the same question come up this morning. The kits that we have sold in the last few weeks have all had a throw out bearing but no alignment tool, or pilot bearing. I called ACT this morning since I did not have one in stock to check for myself, and they claimed that the kits come with the alignment tool, but no bearings. It's conflicting information, so I'm not sure if they changed their kits or what. Once our stock gets in, I will check the boxes to see exactly what are in the new ones we receive. |

I would recommend getting the OEM flywheel surfaced, or getting a new one. However, very few people have the proper equipment to re-surface a dual mass flywheel.

Stock clutch will hold up to very well. Our Reline Time Attack car had nearly 50K miles with half of it on either the dyno or the track and putting down 425 hp and 450 tq.
If you must replace the oem clutch either the ACT or Clutch Master clutches are good choices. |

Do those guys do repeated launches from a stand still with drag radials ? After 3-4 launches like this at the track, your OEM clutch will slip. It doesn't matter if you have 1000hp/tq if you only do 3-rd or 4-th gear pulls on the highway.

Agreed the oem isn't designed to hold over 420 horses reliably. The true test is seeing if the clutch will hold in 6th gear? My oem clutch will hold everything but wot 6th with meth. Sometimes it'll grab and sometimes it'll slip.
