I'm guessing you mean the Lease offers on the BMWUSA website. They haven't listed the E90's. the E90's have been higher than the E92's. if they are all down than the MF on the E90 328xi is probably about .0024? it was
.0028 last month. with MSD's that's a MF=.002 hmmmm, leasing is sounding a bit better. still my dealer wanted me to bend over with a .0032 in October.

would love to see official BMWFS November lease sheet. anyone?

All the dealers in Canada I have talked to say that rates have remained the same for November for 07' 3 series?

Is this just a US thing?

maybe that's just a line, if BMWFS lowers their rates and the dealers keep the same rates that's just more profit for them. I smell a conspiracy. we need the official base BMWFS lease rates. I can't get a straight answer from my dealer.

My dealer just confirmed it too:

"The residual is same on 328Cp, and 335Cp (61%) for 15,000 miles, but the money factor is lower (25 point)."

Of course you "don't get your money back" but you don't get the payments back that you make every month either, jees. Cash down on the lease also lowers the interest you are paying on the lease! Now the arguement can be made that the cash could be put to better use (i.e. invested), but for those who aren't great investors, you'd have to make like a 10% return on your cash to make it worthwhile. Also for those of you who love MSD's, you are also tying up your cash for 2-3 years!!! I just don't get it, I've had this conversation with my friend who used to be a finance manager at a dealership and when I presented the numbers and 3 year forecasts it shocked him that money down was a real benefit.

Can't everyone see that this is a line the dealers use and infuse in the industry that is a load of crap. The more money you put down THE LESS THE DEALERS/ BMWF make in profit (interest).

Please, PLEASE, somebody prove me wrong. I've run about 30 forecast scenarios, and just don't get the "no money down" hype. clank (that was me getting off my soapbox).
Word.

I can see it being stupid if the lease rate is really low, but otherwise it saves a good chunk of the interest on the ammortized portion of the loan.

Anyway I must be really stupid because I paid the whole thing when I picked up the car. Total cost of the lease was reduced by 4 figures and the interest rate on the residual was lower too.

I'm not for leasing in general, but this makes sense except for the possibility of the car being stolen or wrecked. I would assume that insurance wouldn't cover you. I may be wrong.

I know someone that did a claim recently on a leased car and can assure you the myth that you lose any cash down is just that. They go by fair market value of the car vs. a payoff amount negotiated with BMW finance, which in my case would be well above the balance owing on my lease (simply the residual value).

Anyway, I have new car replacement insurance which means that in the event of a total loss they replace the car with a new one on the same contract.

BTW... given the release of the 328/335 less than a year after I got my car I'm pretty glad I leased instead of purchasing.
