Non rft and tpms

Guys,

I know a lot of this has been done to death...but friday I'm due to have 4 new non rft tyres fitted to my 320d m sport lci 09 model year.

I've read that the tyre pressure system now forms part of the mot...if true will the tpms still work with non run flats...?

I have an email from BMW saying they have no issue with non rft being fitting providing they are the same standard as the rft. I guess they mean size, speed rating extra load etc...

If I go ahead, what's the best compressor kit?

Cheers

The tpms isn't a unit on the wheel, it's part of the ABS system & simply measures comparative rotational speed of the wheels ie. if they're different, the pressure must be different thereby changing the rolling radius of the tyre, simples.

So the consensus is to go ahead and fit non run flats....?

What about a compressor, best options, do I also need a wheel wrench...never looked in my boot to be honest...

Have a look on the net for a Continental mobility kit which has a pump & slime for roadside repair.

You'll only need a wheel wrench if you plan on taking your wheels off.

In which case you would also need a jack...and a spare tire...

Ok, point taken bit tired at the mo!

So found the conti mobility kit, but say you can only buy replacement bits for it from the dealers...is that true...non run flats starting to sound less attractive...confused.
