Coding DTC button
Hi,
Recently i was thinking it would be great whenever i shift into DS mode, the DTC switched on automatically (i.e one press and DTC light on), and when switching back to D mode it goes back to normal. Anyone know if and how this can be done? |

lol you lazy bugger! Just push the button hahahah
I do know though... that with the JB4... you can click a setting which means one touch of the dtc button completely turns off all traction aids... So you know longer have to wait 5 seconds etc... |

It cannot be done by coding. Coding is basically manipulating with the options which bmw has left for themselves.
However it can be done with flashing / integrating it to a map. One example is JB4 being able to do it for you.

It doesn't do that. You can have the jb4 automatically enable the one push dtc press upon start up but you would still need to hold it down for 5 seconds if you want to fully disable traction control.

Thanks Mak. So a diesel remapper, like E Maps or BW Chiptune, could do that within their normal remaps?

I very much doubt it mate. More sort of American / German tuners which can implement changes in their maps. Again if they would do, problem would be how would turn it on.

This is interesting! I've been looking for something similar in my own maps but haven't found it. These ECUs are so complicated. I'll try and find an original map for an auto transmission and take a look. I only have access to my own manual maps.
