BMW Fuel Additives...

Maybe I've been living in a cave, but yesterday I noticed these in the dealership - BMW branded for petrol and diesel. Does anyone have any epxerience of them, positive or negative?

No idea how much they are by the way, as I say, just noticed them yesterday by the service desks.

They are made under licence from memory TunAp manufacturer them in their plant in Germany, though if you find someone who sells TunAp buy their product as you get more for your money

Forte also offer a additive both of which we use

Garage List
It's about £12 a bottle.

I use in on the X5 and my 335.

No noticeable benefits or bad side effects to be honest. Supposed to keep your engine clean from glazing and build up, so it's more of a preventative thing in my case, and £12 every few months I can live with.

I have heard mixture of reviews, i guess it depends on how the state of build up is on your car, if its already not bad maybe no difference?

On a fellow BMW Forum ***cough*** land ... Cotswold BMW are selling it for £6.50 a bottle I think.

Guess it can't do any harm. If the engine is direct injection the benefits are more limited though.

I bought it for £6.50 via another forum and have used 3 treatments so far.

I noticed difference after the 1st treatment but just thought I'd stick in another couple to make sure. ;O)

What kind of difference?

£6/7 doesn't seem too bad - I notice the leaflet talks about 5 treatments to get the benefit.

I wonder if pouring methylated spirits into the tank with your Vpower will make our fuel similar to E85 in the US?
