Condition of these seats?

Looking at an online listing, how would you rate the condition of these seats? Also, (why I am posting in this forum), what products could be used to bring them "back to life" in terms of creases/wrinkles?

Maybe it's just the lighting, or that I have never dealt with Coral Red interior.

Thanks guys.

leatherique would do great work on them
all purpose cleaner at a high dilution ratio say 20:1 with a tooth brush would get them really clean
a steamer would do wonders to them

I heard something about a hair dryer or a heat gun, how safe is this in the hands of an amateur? To me it sounds like burnt leather.

A tooth brush may get annoying unless you're very patient, try getting a terry cloth applicator or a leather brush.

Out of curiosity, are you buying new seats? Or a new car?

New (to me) car. 2007 e92 328xi Alpine White with Coral Red interior. Buying it online, so I have to go by pictures. What better place to get opinions on said pictures than e90post's expert detailers...

Those seats are fine. Good cleaner whether it be from Leatherique, Leather Masters, Wolfgang etc etc cand and will remove the sheen and oils/grime and bring back the natural matte finish. Follow that with a good conditioner and you'll be set.

I would rate the condition of the seats as average.

The biggest issues I see with them are:
1 - they are dirty
2 - the cushions are definitely needing replacement, which will do more for the real merit of the seats than pretty much everything else.

Best of luck.

+1

Those seats look good. Leather looks best when it has a little relaxing and some wear with a nice patina on it. It's a natural product that gets better with age.

I see nothing in those pictures that would suggest the cushions needing replacement. Looks like perferctly normal wear to me. Give me one hour with those seats and I'll have them looking like new again.

Hard to tell the true condition without cleaning the seats. Leatherique should bring them back to life to above average condition as a whole though.

Perhaps it's the photo, but the seat bottom cushion appears not to be so taught. Look at the area around the stitching at the rear of the seat bottom. It looks flattened to me. I looked at my own car's seats to compare, but as I said, it could be the photo giving that appearance.

Cushion compression wouldn't be unexpected for the driver's seat and would fit into the realm of "normal wear and tear."

Just as a side note I'm jealous of the red interior

I too would suggest the use of the Leatherique Prestine Clean and Leatherique Rejuvenator Oil. It will help clean the surface so it's looking it's best. Also don't forget we are offering 20% off virtually all items at our store (except tools, packages and sale items) through 1/16 with the coupon code Jan2011 so it's a great time to buy.

Who the hell lets their car get that dirty? These are not disposable razors! Some good cleaning should bring it all back to life, though.

On the side bolster issue, these seats do not look like my sport seats. Maybe it's a sedan vs coupe look. They do look flat. Maybe the dingey fabrics + flat bolsters are a product of bad lighting/camera. Who knows?

I'd say the condition is good. But if he let his car get that crappy inside, what about mechanically or externally? I've seen E36s with better interiors.

ALSO: Black interior with red seats and wood trim? Brushed aluminum trim IMHO would be a huge improvement.

If I purchase this car I am going to wrap the trim in matte charcoal or matte black.
