KBB vs Edmunds
I can't seem to figure this one out. I build identical cars on both websites. Both the MSRP and Invoice are the same. How come the Edmunds TMV (true market value) is so different to Kellys Blue Book value. I'd expect them to be close to each other.
I never took the time to check edmunds until KBB gave me a price of only 1K off MSRP. The XI was also much higher over its invoice than an I model over its invoice. $1700 over invoice for an I but an XI $2200 over invoice. Edmunds was much more realistic $1400 over invoice ($1800 below MSRP) for both I or XI. Now I know I should be aiming for $1k over invoice (or lower of course) but I just want to understand whatsup with these numbers. |

When I've sold/purchased used vehicles, I've noticed that KBB tends to return higher prices than Edmunds. In my opinion, in my region Edmunds was more accurate than KBB.

Edmunds was more helpful in the car buying and selling process then KBB was. KBB simply has the "old school" name. Edmunds is the new way to go.
