i didn't know springs normally wear out? i guess you learn new things everyday.
this whole time i thought only shocks needed to be regularly replaced.

Springs don't need to be replaced, unless they are rusting severely or underwent damage during a collision.

It's your shocks that get worn out overtime, and more quickly when you use lowering springs which cause the shocks to be constantly compressed (unless you go with shocks that have shorter shafts, such as Bilstein B8)

I've heard they wear out as well. Maybe 80 - 100K miles?

I'd imagine vendors will try to say that so they can sell you moar springs, but I'd like to look at some concrete evidence showing that springs wear out.

most springs have a warranty, which ensures lifetime replacement for spring sag

But aftermarket ones are sometimes better

and in combination with upgraded shocks which definably do wear out can give you better handling and ride.
