How many dings and scratches?

So, I have had my car for 9 months and I have gathered my unfair share of imperfections already. I have a small license plate screw indent with a scratch in the rear bumber (happened last week), a cab backed into me a month ago and scratched the front bumper, I have a ding on the driver side rear door (happened first week I got it), and I also have about 5 or so noticable surface scratches. Oh, one more ding that is barely noticeable on the passenger side front door. I just want to give up, I am careful where I park, each time I wash it, I find something new and get depressed. I guess this is what happens to a daily driver, I just had much better luck over 4 years with my 330.

Yup bound to happen... Every time I wash my car I find a new scratch. Kinda depressing haha. But expected.

I'm thinking about getting the front facia re-painted, but don't know if it'll be worth the money. With my luck, the first day I get it out of the shop, I'll have a gravel truck overturn right in front of me. I might just wait for a few more years and get the whole car re-painted.

Yup... that about sums it up. After each car wash I spend the following week and a half sitting in the dark drinking shitty scotch straight from the bottle and sobbing uncontrollably.

The more you love your car the closer you look. I have two dime sized dings that drive me nuts but it seems like I am the only one who even notices them.

When you have a car it can and will happen, nothing you can do aobut it. You'll just have to live with it sadly.

They're just unavoidable sometimes because people are soooo stupid. This one dumbass with a c250 parked, I shit you not, 1.5 ft from my car..where OBVIOUSLY you can't squeeze out the car so he most likely hit his door on mine. I walk up to the car and examine if it made a mark. I was so happy it didn't then the guy walks up and beeps his car to let him know I'm there. I tell him "you don't think this is a little close?" he didn't respond. So I'm about to leave and he's digging through his car while I'm about to pull out. THIS IDIOT DOESN'T WAIT TIL I PULL OUT. Still digging through his car the door opens some more and hits my car again. All I hear from outside is "oh..sorry" I'm super pissed at this point. I get out the car and check, luckily nothing happened again. After this I make SURE I don't park next to anyone. I never did before but this time the parking lot was a little packed.

Anyways this is what I have with my '06 330 which I'm super anal about it's paint..wax it every time I wash it carefully. No one, not even me can lean on it blah blah blah. Don't care if anyone says its a 8 year old 3 series..anyone who says that doesn't appreciate their car.

Chipped the corner of my bumper from the curb (a tree pushed the concrete on the curb out so I didn't see it while parking), tiny scratch on the hood, a couple scuffs on the roof (nothing that can't polish out), door ding I just discovered on my driver door, paint is chipping around headlight washer and inside the wheel well, 2 small scratches on the left quater panel, and light scuffs and scratches around probably from the track. All of these are really small and I can only notice them so the car looks new over all. A lot of people are astound when I tell them its '06 they think it's like 2011. Not just because of the LCI but the paint too.

Anyways..don't be too bummed. Nothing can't be fixed with some TLC. Get a good detail or something. Find a door ding remover guy or mobile detailer. Should be good as new after. I'm looking into a polish because I haven't polished the car since the 2 years I've had it.

Ya there are a few...maybe it's time to take advantage of my "scratch and ding" coverage I purchased with the car...we'll see how that goes

Just a few light scratches that will be buffed out Saturday. Also my aero lip is scraped but who cares? I can always take it off and repaint it whenever.

I've got one ding on the pass. quarter that I'm actually having fixed this morning.

The PDR guy pointed out a plug in the door jamb meaning that panel has already been worked before...

Also got a scratch on rear bumper, both were there before I got the car.

Mines seen a lot of highway miles so it unfortunately has it's fair share of nicks in the front end from rocks/debris. I also have a dent in the rear passenger side door that drives me crazy and a couple of scrapes on the bottom of the front bumper.

Those are irritating but the one that really pisses me off is a scuff on the front left corner of the bumper where someone obviously scraped it trying to park and got too close... they decided I wouldn't mind and drove off.

It's a car. I'm not crazily anal about it, if I get a ding, I get it fixed. I have two on my BMW that will get sorted out this summer, one on the driver's side rear door and one on the hood of all places. Right in my line of sight, of course. Sigh.

My two month old FIAT Abarth already has 3-4 good stone chips in the hood. It's black so they really show too. Need to get touchup paint for that one. Not surprisingly the BMW seems to have better/tougher paint, no stone chips in two years, and it has seen a lot more winter than the FIAT.

Funny to see this topic. Just purchased touch up paint last night to take care of some scratches.
I have 2 dings on pass door and 1 on driver door. Hate shopping carts

Well I'm in NoVA (that's Northern Virginia for you non-locals) and the people here are the most careless, rudest people I've met yet, save for those in the MD suburbs of DC. Either one are far more likely to f**k your car up than anyone north of the Mason-Dixon line

On the upside, walking from the far end of the parking lot is good for you.
