Purchasing a car and getting it delivered. Private sale

I am located in NYC. I found a vehicle in Florida. Price for getting the car shipped is most that bad. Some where near 400-500.

Has anyone every delt with a delivery. How do I get my tittle. I feel like owner putting tittle in the car is asking for problems.

Question for you though - how are you examining the car before having it delivered to you? (mechanically/externally) I'm in a similar situation right now (car is on the West Coast).

You paying cash for the car? Have them send the title FedEx with signature.

I'm having issues. I was going to PayPal. Found out PayPal ford not cover car transactions. I can send my money and guy just run off. They say you can give title to the truck driver but now he can drive off with the car. The seller made me videos inside and out. Might just end up taking a plane down and doing everything up front

I'm just north of the city and found a 335i in Miami after my 03 M3 was stolen. I called a dealer in Miami and arranged to have a prepurchase inspection done. Told the seller no inspection, no deal. Dealer charged me $350, $250 for inspection and $100 for leak down test. They also agreed to give my bank check to the seller and take the title and fedex it to me for another $100. I arranged to have car picked up at dealer by transport co.

I bought a Ferrari in NY one time and had it delivered to Atlanta. I had a PPI done on the car at the dealership, the dealer kept the car, I wired the money to the guy then had it shipped. The owner sent me the title overnight via FedEx. Smooth transaction.

This is exactly how I've done it a few times, both from dealers and private parties.
