Hi guys. I am heading out to San Antonio raceway tomorrow night. I have never taken my 335i out there, but have raced my other cars there in the past. Any tips for launching an automatic? All my other cars were manual so I have never power braked my car etc. I have the jb4 and an intake, so any tips on map1 vs map5 and launch techniques are appreciated. Going out there with a buddy who has a highly modified evo.

Something else you can try is launching on 2nd gear if you have the DS mode... you can also hold down your brake and gives some gas up to about 1500 RPM at the line. Then let off the brake and go WOT at the green light. My launches were worse after my JB4 installation...I went from a 2 second 60 foot launch (stock), to a 2.4 second launch with JB4. BUT that was on worn out Run flats, so im sure that had alot to do with it :/ I did several runs and couldnt see any significant changes in my launches....almost every time I had a launch over 2.3 seconds...But i have seen others post on the forum with launches in the 1.7 second range....so i know it can be done. Next i am going to try and lower my boost for 1st and 2nd gear...this can be done in the user settings of the JB4...Im thinking 9 psi max for 1st and 11 for second... As far as maps,,,i personally liked map 1 better then 5...i hear that map five needs to relearn and readjust everytime you switch maps...so what i would do is maybe drive you car to the track on map 5...giving the jb4 to learn on the way there....then run the 1/4 mile...do several runs...then after a few runs switch to map 1 and do a couple of runs to allow the map 1 to re adjust...see if you notice a difference....My map 5 would cause misfire codes for me... I need new spark plugs though...so if you have decent life on your plugs you should be fine switching to 5... You should also try doing a couple of runs with map 2! I know downpipes are recommended for this map but it should be fine to run a couple times pushing the 14.5 psi on map 2...especially with 93 octane..do a couple of runs with map 2 just to mess around (see what kind of difference it makes) and then go back to map 1 or 5 when your done. Let me know how it goes...maybe a few of us will roll out there aswell...we typically like to hang out at some car meets on friday but afterwords we look for spots to run...sometimes the track is the most convenient. A little off topic, but I'm in need of a ride up to BMW of Austin next week to pick up a car. Anyone interested in going up there in the AM on Wednesday or Friday? I'll pay for gas and buy lunch...

I have one. I bought the craftsman, thin-walled 14mm and grinded it down a mm or so (as many have done). Works fine. I won't be home until tomorrow though.

Lci Tails, Accessport, More For Sale
So I got into a wreck last week and totaled my FBO 335i coupe. I have LCI tails, Cobb AP, Carbon Fiber rear spoiler and rear splitter available for a quick sale. My car was FBO but I'm fairly certain the FMIC. Stett CAI and the downpipes are toast. PM me for details!

Ah, you went for the 19" wheels! Is yours 328 or 335? I got the "performance package" that included gloss black kidneys and the M-Performance exhaust. Pics below:

Sorry, no tech package. Premium, M-Sport, Dynamic Handling and the "Performance" package (exhaust and black grilles), plus some other separate options. I thought I had communicated to the dealer that I also wanted the "sport transmission with paddle shifters", but somehow those didn't get on the car. Waiting to see if I can get them retrofitted.
