Actually I've decided to replace them with OEM M3 grilles which will be black with silver surrounds. That will happen once I'm done replacing my speakers in the next few weeks.

I've now installed my focal K2 ES100K speakers and M3 grilles.
Even with the stock head unit these sound amazing.

Dude I figured with all your interior painting work you woulda just done the M3 speaker mod and painted them instead of buy new ones. One of my favorite mods I did actually and is just like the real ones

I thought about it but I prefer the more open mesh of the M3 grilles for looks and better sound.

I'd allow about $800 for the leatherique oil, prep cleaner, and dye but you may spend considerably less depending on the condition and chosen colours. Going from black to red probably requires more coats than others.

After a couple of years it's still holding up fine.

scanspeak Absolutely love what you did! I am trying to do the exact same thing on my e92, if it wouldn't be too much to ask, could you please list how much paint you purchased to do this, what paint code you purchased, and what all you used and needed for this project? All of the information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!!

How much product

How much product did you end us using for the entire project? Excluding the front panels and dashboard area. And did you just request the imola or coral red when ordering or did you send them a sample?

Love the Imola red!!! - wish my car wasn't red so I could do this!!! LOL!

(I've got Black, but I'd like to have it tan/beige for that more traditional look)

I used Imola red which turned out to be the same as Coral red.
From memory I used about 1500ml-2000ml.

Products arrived & starting soon!

Hello OP, I was wondering if you ever figured out how to separate the top and bottom of the front seats or if this is needed? Additionally, did you spray on or wipe on the matt clear? Thanks for your help! You have been one of people I am using as a guide for my black to imola red change

So it's been a few years since you dyed your leather. How's everything holding up? Any signs of fading, discoloration, flaking, etc? I'm on the verge of going the Leatherique route but am curious to see how yours held up in the past 4 years or so.

Since doing the work I have made a few changes, the main one being the seats were replaced with manual (lighter) versions in genuine coral red and the door cards were replaced with some brand new genuine items which I found on Ebay. So basically the remaining parts that remain painted are the dash and centre console. They have had a few scratches and a piece small peeled off once when I taped over it (likely due to poor prep) , but any issues were easy to repair. You have to be a bit more careful with sharp objects, etc as it's definitely not as durable as OEM . I found that coating the paint with acrylic matt from Tamiya or Rustoleum improved appearance and durability considerably.

Apologies for the loss of most pics as I switched website hosts.

Would you be willing/able to re-host the pics of the process? I'm really curious--I've searched for a full year for a clean coral interior with no luck. This seems like the next best option and I'd be very interested in doing it.
