I was thinking if they had sent over 500 of these letters than they may be only prosecuting the more serious offenders as i know my car was not involved in any crazy behavouir! I guy from brum had the cops turn up at his house because he named someone else driving and they had a camera with them and showed him driving the car. he admitted it was him and was offered 6 points for racing or take it too court........he took the 6 points! |

Call me cynical but going to sell a car at a known street racing meet and letting people who "maybe" interesting in buying your drive it above the speed limit seems like well how can I put it well I'll just say, smells like BS to me.
Look at the facts. If I was selling my BMW and I was a member of a BMW forum I think that maybe I would put the car up for sale on said forum? no for sale thread. Would I take it to a known street racing meet and let somebody who I don't know (very convenient) drive my car above the speed limit. ME I know I wouldn't. But anyway you can give any story you want to the police but remember If the guy who's name you gave is not insured you will not only get done for the original offence which I guess is street racing but you will also possibly get done for either letting somebody else drive your car with no insurance (think this is 6 points) but if it's found that you are lying ie they have a photo of you driving(which I'm guessing they do as they won't show you the evidence until court) then I'm guessing you will get done for perverting the course of justice which can mean jail time if proven. So my advice is make sure your not caught out and are 100% honest. This is just my opinion and I hope I'm wrong also please don't take offence it is just how I have read your posts and I thought I would give my honest opinion. |

No offence taken but i havent put up the full story as theres a lot more to it.
I was not actually at the racing area when met with guy but in a totally different area and only reason as mentioned earlier was that the route upto star city is long dual carraige ways which were perfect for test drives and only ended up passing through trouble area as mentioned to get a bit of cred. Also myself before i bought the car asked the owner on test drive if i could floor it a bit to make sure turbos were working fine. I actually emailed the police 3 times because i myself and other guy had both driven the car down the same stretch and because it must have been a small window of around 5 mins dont actually know 100% who was drivng when clocked. They refused to help in any way identify the driver so did not have much choice really apart from name other guy or incriminate myself. Another point is, they can not do me for both offence that u mentioned. If they try and do me for letting a uninsured driver drive then that means he was driving at the time, so then can't also do me for racing because if other guy was driving and i'm getting done for that....how could i be racing because i was not driving at the time. Regarding perverting the cause of justice.....i haven't!...all i have done is give info to the best of my knowledge and if they have me driving on photo or camera then fine because i never have denied i did not drive down there but without any help was unable to identify correct driver and would accept punsihment if it was me. I did not drive my car in any silly manner but guy drove it past speed limit twice i reckon so personally belive must have been him when clocked. and Quote:

Had a feeling there was more to it tbh but from the info that you had posted it did seem a bit suspect but now you've cleared it up a bit it isn't as bad as it first seemed.

I drive fast most of the time but certainly dont cruise around chavs at street races and then complain when the police say hello

This thing has been going on for 8 months now. I been court a few times. I been stressed out for 8 months. As I heard for racing its a 12 months ban. I wasn't racing like I said to you guys before.
The Monday which has gone. I got the CCTV footage Apparently to West Midlands police I was racing. Guess what it just show my car driving stop at a set of lights and driving off at normal speed. I went to court today and my case discontinued. Am over the moon, 8 months stress. Now am stress free. Thanks to every one who gave there support at the start of this thread I will upload the footage to show you guys

I went to a street racing party once. And then the police came. And I saved Dominic torreto from getting arrested. Banged his sister too. But sadly got mixed up with the wrong crowd and made some Asian enemies who shot my friend for not giving up his vs jetta. |
