Really bad creaking

On normal turns and even in a static position I hear a really bad creaking. I found out today that the spring is making that noise. While turning it will rotate and at some point it will stop, making the creak noise. I searched and I guess people were installing something upside down, but this problem only happened recently. So could it be something else?

You should get your car up on a lift and take the wheels off so you can have a look - try moving things around with your hands to see if anything is loose...
