Needing input on pricing for 2010 BMW 335i m-sport.

So I am in the market to purchasing a 2010 bmw 335i m-sport sedan with 35,210km's, the car is equipped with navigation package, executive package, m-sport package & audiophile sound package. The car is located at Autowest BMW Richmond,BC, the dealership is pricing this car at $44,732, which I think is very over priced. ------>

While Parkshore BMW in North Vancouver,BC is selling a 2010 bmw 335i m-sport coupe with 23,150kms, the car is equipped with navigation package, executive package, m-sport package & audiophile package. The dealership is asking for $41,900. Note that this is a coupe which should always be priced higher then a sedan.------>

I am very interested in purchasing this sedan, so I am asking the e90post Canadian members to help me out on this. What would be a fair price to start negotiations from ? How would I use this to leverage ? I feel that is just seems over price for the sticker tag, so e90post members please chime in ! Any advice would be very helpful,

Well, if I remember correctly, the residual value at 2 years is ~57%. New MSRP was probably $63k. I bought basically the same car last year (2009 E90, same options) at that cost, private party.

You should start at the $36k residual, add CPO costs, add (reasonable) dealer markup and use that as your guideline.

I would say fair value would be in the 30 - 32K's. If you are buying from a bmw dealer as a cpo, they would propably asking 38-$40,000.

The car is considered as a 3 year old vehicle. 50% residual of the MSRP would be a pretty good starting base cal.

Thanks for the advice guys, so based on what I've heard from the both you is since its consider a 3 year car start negoitations at 50% of the residual value ? They are both cpo vehicles. Is there an actual site where its shows you the exact residual value of the car/ canadian based. Once again appreciate the input.

I would buy one from the US and import it.

In 2011 I bought a 2008 335i in South Carolina with 35k for just under $25,000.

Your not going to get better deals than in the Southern US.

I have thought of importing it as I did for my 2008 infiniti fx35 in 09 but this time I think I'm just going to keep it local. Alright so 30 - 35K should be the residual value ? Would anyone happen to have a connection at autowest bmw in richmond,bc ?

one listed at Autowest is way out of whack, imo. Just because it's lower mileage car, the dealer is asking for the moon.

If you must make an offer, $38 - $39K + taxes and no other fees would be the absolute most. just my 2 cents.

That's what I felt, hefty pricing on it. I'm thinking around that price range to. Just needing more input before I make my decision of purchasing the car.

Ok so I pretty much drive the car you want but in RWD. When I purchased my car it had 17,000 miles and I paid $36,895 and $41,000 out the door after adding the "total image" package. My car is 100% fully loaded with iDrive but I have the base stereo system for some reason...Anyways, I think the dealer is asking way too much. Get them down to near $39,000

If I may add one more comment to OP.

Do establish the 'walk away' price point as your emotion to buy this may end up costing you more than what you should really be paying.

There will always be another E90 335xi Msport out there as people are coming off lease or trading in for a F30.

That's what I figured, around mid 30's + taxes and no other fees is be reasonable, yeah I know what the emotional attachment is happened to me on my first car.. Couldn't resist the growl and exhaust note of the fx -_-". I was also considering a f30 since the price of 2010 335i is just so ridiculous. Thanks for input guys any other info I could use would be very helpful, much appreciated.
