Active Autowerke Customer Service
Hey guys. Just wanted to relay my experience to anyone that was interested in purchasing any of Active Autowerke's performance parts. I am not a paid representative, BUT I did work in the Aftermarket Autoparts industry 5 years ago. Many people can be understandably cautious when dealing with a company that they have never had any interaction with before, so I hope this testimony helps your decision to work with AA.
I contacted AA's (general support email) at 4:08pm yesterday for a fitment question on their BOV Kit with another company's DCI, and a question about their new Intercooler. I received 2 reply emails from one of their their founders Mike Hugh at 5:48pm, same day. He gave me great information regarding upgrading boost levels and put my mind to ease about a discussion on this forum that many people have made cloudy. BOV vs. Diverter Valves. Basically many people have suggested that BOV is only for sound and that our car comes stock with DV's and should stay that way to re-route pressure effectively etc. I didnt understand this theory, as I have been building non-BMW turbo cars for years, and have understood that BOV's, if correctly installed and set to correct spring-weight will safeguard against Boost Surge much better than a DV that is relied upon to "re-route" the pressure, and do so at incredible 25-40+psi levels on some cars. (Supra TT, Skyline GTR etc.) This morning at 10:30am I received another email from Jean Sada a specialist at AA, to follow-up with me...(less than a day later?!?) and put my fears to rest that AA is a great company to work with, and has a great knowledgeable staff that doesnt TRY to sell you on their ideas or products, but actually works with what YOUR needs are, and plans you have for your own car. I replied to Jean stating that my car is on order and will arrive in 3 weeks and will contact them for these 2 parts. Got another email back 5 minutes later saying the Sale Price on the Intercooler ends this month, BUT they will honor the price for me when I order upon taking delivery of my car next month!! Based on "Former Boosted IS" testimony/review of their new Intercooler and their great customer service they have a new customer and I reccommend them to anyone that wants to work with an established BMW peformance shop that isnt "too big or busy" to provide great customer service. I will be providing a review of their AA Intercooler and BOV Kit with Dyno results and real-life IAT results in about 3 weeks when i take delivery of my E92. I will provide results in upgrade stages (Intake; Intake + Intercooler; Intercooler without Intake; and finally Intake + Intercooler + BOV to determine if there is any Boost Purge/Leak...yes I will have a boost guage for this.) Great company to deal with ! Thanks Mike / Jean & AA !! Last edited by Hyper psi-atic; 04-14-2009 at 02:59 PM.. |

Hi. Thanks for the info. By the way, there is a vendor feedback forum for this type of post. Maybe a mod will move it there for you.

There was an issue a while back where someone was having problems installing an intercooler I believe.
I've had good experiences with AA in the past. I had issues with my exhaust installation and they pointed me in the right direction. Thumbs up from me. |
