Hold down the "open" button on the key fob. Takes a few secs.

ya..just hold it down....it will open the windows first, then sunroof after....as soon as you let go, it will stop so you can open them as wide as you want.....now if only the lock button would close them.....

Unfortunately no. I remember with my older BMW (where the buttons/fob was part of the key itself) you could close all the windows by inserting the key in the driver door handle and holding it in the lock position.

Nope. You have to take out the little key, insert it into the lock, turn and hold until all the windows are closed.

I never understood why they didn't include the ability to close it in the same way, using the lock button..

+1 my B5 A4 had that feature comes in handy when you realise that you forgot a window open by mistake!

I wish the lock button would close them.

The above video is the M3 so it might have that feature.

Correct, it also has remote folding mirrors for those with Premium option as well as the ability to rid of the "double-pull" required when opening the door.

I read somewhere that the remote doesn't allow it to close because of the risk of injury. The car companies (my Acura as well) want the closing to be a deliberate action, just in case somone (a child etc) has an arm sticking out, a fob in the pocket wouldn't allow the window to go up.

The windows will still retract as normal if there if something is blocking. Note EU vehicles do have this option, it's the US vehicles that get all the cool features omitted.

Doesn't holding the lock button set off the alarm? Might be a little inconvenient if the alarm when off every time you tried to close your windows.

IIRC, the alarm is triggered by the trunk button on the remote.

I have the remoteKey, it's one of the best mods I have.

My 06 Jetta would close the windows and sunroof with the lock key. If the windows saw any resistance they would retract fully. I love my BMw, but I've said it before and I'll say it again... BMW engineers need to take a Jetta for a week and pick up a few ideas.
