can i change my non xenons for xenons???

hello everyone, need some help here, ive heard that i could change my non xenon headlights for xenons, so i bought the complete headlights and put them on, and the only thing that works is the angel lights, daytime running lights, and high beam lights, and of course the turn signals, i thought it could be a bad ballast, so i plugged my headlight to my 335 and it worked, but it does not want to work on my 06 325i. helppp
