And to be fair, I did a compressor-only upgrade to my old turbocharged Miata back in the 90s. Put in a Ford T-bird compressor with original turbine wheel (unclipped). And it made an solid 30whp more power with no loss in spool up. So they can certainly work in some cases

Great project - keep the info coming! And good luck with it all, of course. Am very curious how this turns out, and it's great to see there is finally some momentum in the turbo upgrade market.

Thats what I said... Hope it works out and hope it doesn't cost more than 1000 bucks. 30 hp for 1000 bucks....Hmm. What else can I buy that is cheaper? Meth? N20? Tune? Well, just about every basic bolt on. You'd need to be bored and have no other way to increase power for an added ceiling for 30hp to make any sense by spending 3 or 4k. Shit, you could PAY me 3000 dollars and i'll freakin PRETEND my car has more power.

jeez we'll see how these do soon.. if it makes 30-40whp more then it's worth it in my eyes. I will also be doing meth eventually (in the spring/summer).

The only thing is I don't think you really have any other mods you can buy at this point so. Hell, its probably the next thing on your mod list... I hope it works out, any upgrade is better than no upgrade. Good luck.

If these turbos make 420-440 consistently and hold over 400 whp to 7k rpm on pump no meth, maybe 445-455+ on meth? that would be worth it to me. Also these turbos would better in better effiency in the higher boost range. Anything over 400whp on stock turbos is at the max of the stock turbo and out of effiency.

yeah 1k is extremely unrealistic, it would be cheap at 1k per turbo w no supporting hardware or software.

Excuse me if this is an ignorant idea but if the turbine shaft proves to be too weak couldn't we just replace it with a titanium shaft of the same diameter? Seems like that would only cost $40-50 in any sort of quantity. Could apply some low friction ceramic coating to it while you are at it.
