Nah, If you had the 335 you'd mod it. You'd be content for a few weeks, then the thought of having V2 or JB2 would creep into your head, and you'd feel the same way you do now- My car could be faster!

When I got my car the 335 didn't exist. I got the very top of the line car that was available at the present time, and I'm still very satisfied with it. Sure it could be faster, but I don't race and I do my best to get good mpg. So it doesn't bother me.

I guess the best advice I can give you is to try your best to be content. Honestly, being so young and already being discontent with your AMAZING car is not necessarily the best scenario...

There will always be a car that's better/faster than the one you have. I guess my advice to you is to be thankful that you 1. even have a BMW 2. have a 330 (instead of 325,328) 3. are financially capable to mod to personalize your car.

It could be a lot worse!

Oh no Im perfectly content, I love my car, there is nothing I dont like about it.
It drives amazing, the way it handles is , I'm not discontent, I was just saying I could have gotten a 335i for the same amount I paid for mine, albeit a base one.

I guess I like power?? I don't even speed really at all, I just like having that kick in your pants feeling. Im just used to driving my dads S55, which has 500hp and I just like knowing that there is power there.

Im keeping this car for as long as I want or well my dad wants me to.
I have had a car longer than both my brother and sister have.

My sister has had 6 different cars and she is only 21
My brother just turned 18 and he has 3 cars, and has had 6 cars.

Im planning on keeping mine till either warranty is up or my dad offers to change it. BTW the warranty is until 2012 or over 100K miles
I love my who doesnt

But BMW till I die

Trust me, the mod bug WILL get to you. I had never had a car as powerful as the 335 and after the first test drive, I was sold. I just couldn't get enough of the raw power of the N54....that was until I started lurking the boards here and found out I could have MORE raw power. Right now I am running the JB2H since we have 93 octane a-plenty around here, and it is just sick. Hopefully Terry will get a definite answer on whether the H-pill can be used in warmer temps or I am going to have to take it out when the hotter weather hits.

Oh, and a quick question for you Nashville folks, I have ordered an OEM rear spoiler from Tischer and need to get it painted. Jeremy at BMW of N said to take it to Vogley and Todd. Right now, that is my first choice. Anyone else here get parts painted that could suggest a good shop?

I got my front lip painted at Bradshaw's collision in Rivergate, but they have them all over. Paint match was perfect, and I was only charged $75..which is really good.

It already has on my car. I just cant justify a teenager or new driver having any more power than that, even just the stock car. I would not mod for safety reasons of being a new driver.

It has perfect power and I would keep it that way for a while if I had one, trust me. Right now Im modding because I dont have enough, it is silkly smooth from idle to redline though, but I would like a little more ooomphhhh

I came by BMW today and bought some oil. My steering wheel squeak is back, and my center dash trim is making a lot of noise(goes away when I push trim in) and a sound from my passenger side by the seat belt has been there forever. I'm going to take it in next week for everything to be checked out.

bro!!!!!!! any chance you can charge me less than $200 for the ipod installation. I'm already paying 300 for the cable so it comes out to be a bit pricey. I'm a good tipper though

911, I have that same damn rattle/noise from my center dash trim, right around the dtc/hazard buttons. Let me know what they find out.

I've always had some sort of noise coming from the center console. Mine usually goes away if I push on the area right below the Nav/CD area.. where the trim meets the center console. Pushing the sweet spot usually keeps it quiet for a few weeks.

Mine isn't exactly a squeak.. its more of a movement noise. I guess you could say a pop or a tick? There's not really a very good onomatopoeia for this sound. I think mine is centered around where the wood trim by the cigarette lighter/sunglass tray meets the area under the heated seats buttons. Like I said though, I would put money down that it couldn't be replicated as it only happens every now and then.

I might invest in some felt tape and just tear my car apart taping all the joints. I think there's a DIY on here for that.

Woop just got the brake fluid service indicator, set up appointment for early saturday morning

For some reason my key did not read into the computer, or maybe something on it.
What can the key record volkswackin?

Sometimes my key doesn't read either. CA seems to act up every now and then. I usually just wait a second and try to restart the car, or move my hand on the handle (whatever I'm trying to do). It usually wakes up after a few seconds of trying.

Its possible that you might need a new battery in your fob...

No my key works fine for the car, I have been charging it by putting it in everyday,
I mean some say it doesnt some say it does, I think it does because I can close/open farther away.

No at BMW of Nashville if you give them your key, they can put it on this slot
at the computer and it reads out problems or services as far as I know.
I'm asking volkswackin what information can be stored on the key.

Like
1) how many time redlined
2) fastest speed gone

stuff that can affect anything.

I know BMW knows how fast people have gone.

Story:

My dads friend had a 645i and one time he was in New Jersey,
he decided to open it up and got up to 145mph. (Forgot if was pulled over or not, need to ask dad)
Well then fast foward on, he is buying a new BMW and is trading it in.
His SA came up to him and asked him how fun was going 145mph.
The guy asked him how he knew and he said that the ECU saves it or something does (maybe key)

So if my key saved that then......

Comfort access fobs don't recharge. Inside the fob is a standard coin size CR 2032 battery.. same one from radio shack that does not recharge. Crack it open and see. There's been a ton of 'debates' on this subject. Save your energy and keep your fob in your pocket.
