hmm just wondering the 1792 is a 3.5 inlet/outlet so obviously that won't fit the stock exhaust...
the 1790 is a 2.25 inlet/outlet but it looks nothing like the picture you posted in your OP... do you think it will work the same? it looks like a slimmer version. |

Yes 1790 is for stock piping which requires a 2.25 piping. Remember your midpipes are smaller so the amount of cubic air flow coming through into the piping will be proportional to the size of the resonators. It will work identically to the 1792. I wouldnt worry about that.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a pair of 1790...trying to kill the rasp my c-PE catless DPs + the "is" exhaust produce. Question: is there way to keep the 2nd cats and install the 1790s? Normally, taking out the 2nd cats makes the exhaust louder and even less controlled...bottom line, would you want to keep your 2nd cats?

Like Lulz said, great work - who did you have this perform, your standard muffler shop like Midas or something? I asked a Midas like shop for a quote to replace the 2nd cats with the Vibrant - response was around 1 hr of work. Was this custom work?

This is good stuff - thanks for letting us know, this is the first and definitive answer regarding resonators install + keeping the 2nd cats!

xxnick - this looks to be a replacement to Vibrant 1792, with 2.5" inlet/outlet so you'd need couplers since our midpipes have a 2 1/4" diameter (which is what 1790 is).

stole this video from Rotorocious and I think it's an amazing sound for a stock exhaust AND catless DP's... iirc, he managed to fit the 1792 (2.5 inch in/out) on the stock exhaust piping. would love to see a pic of the setup haha |

I heard X-ception exhaust and it's actually sounds perfect. A little louder than mine but definitely cleaned out the sound for sure. Zero rasp! It sounded like crap prior to resonator install! Lol. It pretty crazy how something so simple can effectively tune an exhaust and make it sound so good.
