How much is a private track rental?

There are a few drag strips around the MD area. Anybody ever do a group day where you rent the strip for the day to avoid the crowds? How much does something like that cost?

I cant wait to see what the xi can do at the strip, but would hate to be there with everybody else.

keep your eyes on this section for private track rentals. A few guys from 6speedonline always do them in the falll starting in October normally. They are great!

I'll be sure to let you know when.

almost all tracks are booked every weekend thru Oct, so prob the only day you could get would be a weekday. obviously, weekdays are cheaper but not many people will be able to take off work unless you already have a bunch of people willing to do it

+1, I was also thinking of bringing my xi to the track. I was hoping to go sometime in the next few weeks. I'll be sure to check back as well

are you only interested in drag racing at MIR or a true track like Summit Point?

Of course summit point would be best, but id like to see the price between the two first. Either way, I want to try my xi had both drag and the track and would never not have everybody else there.

not sure what the prices between the 2 would be but i would have to think that a true track will be a LOT more since the track is a lot longer and more insurance is required.

have you done any track events? autox would also be a great way to get to know your car better. more traction with the xi should work pretty well (although not having a LSD sucks).

Yup, ive done track and drag, but not in the bmw. No auto-x before though. I was thinking about trying some of the cca auto-x events, but since I dont know anybody there, I haven't tried yet.

plenty of autox videos on the ncc website, this year, quite a few people have been taping their runs and posting them. makes for a good learning experience
