330i Front Crash - Advices ?
Hello my name is Facundo and i am the owner of a 2006 E90 330i BMW
Today i have a accident/crash with it, front crash as you will see in the picture. imagen Driver Airbag deploy, i have to said the security of the car is awesome, i am perfectly good, and a walk of the car like nothing happened. BUT now, time to fix. I will go to a authorized dealer in ARGENTINA to fix it, from the image i can see the next parts to be changed: FRONT BUMPER HOOD LEFT HEADLIGHT SET OF GRILL This is cosmetical damage, the car wont start, but the electronics (stereo, lights, etc works) What else can be broken in the inside, because i want to have an estimated of how much will cost to repair, and if it will worth to repair it. Thanks very much for your time Facundo |

There Wil be various mechanical items inside the hood and fender damage along with possible frame issues which is really expensive on bmw. Airbags also costly. Likely close to a ttotal loss based on the age of your car and being a front end collision. I think around 10k with possibly 1-2 k in supplements.

Radiator, fan, frame damage are very possible from the picture.
possibly climatizer compressor, accessory belt. I do not think the damage would extend a lot further than that, but if you have frame damage, you are in for a serious bill. |

i am not sure on BMW's but i have dealt with damaged cars in past and aqfter damage car would not start. there is usually a switch or something like that on car that is disabled when its crashed and it needs to be put back on for car to start

The BST tripped, its' an explosive device on the battery that disconnect when the airbag opens to avoid risks of fire.

how are you guys seeing frame damage? he hit the hood square in the middle of the car. everything under the hood there is made out of plastic! if there was "frame damage" (I doubt it) it's actually not that expensive to put a car on a jig and straighten it out.
are there any ripples around the roof/door openings? doors open and close normally? one thing that would concern me is airbag deployment. that won't be cheap to fix. usually, if airbags deploy it's a write off. I understand you're not in a place that 330i's are common to come by though. |

I had a front end collission and almost walking speed and it looked similar to yours in my old 323i. Mine cost 9000CAD but my airbags never deployed. I am guessing your radiator is also messed up

Hello everyone, thank for the answer.
For the first look, all you can see is plastic damaged. All the doos works perfectly, and raditator seems to be ok. There are no licks of oil or water under the car. Actually, i am not concern about the bill because i have a insurance that will cover all the repair, my concern is if the car will be the same after this, i really like it and i dont want to sell after stupid crash like this. Also, if the repair is too expensive, they will call it total loss which i really dont want. The only deploy airbag was driver airbag, luckly i was driving alone. Thanks you guy for your answer. I cannot open the hood to see more photos, it seems to be stuck in that position. If i can open it, i will upload more pictures ! |

There is most likely very minor frame damage.
Behind the bumper is your rebar. Which is attached to the frame. Rebar is in a banana shape facing out. A center impact will push the out to absorb the impact. But it is minor.... Very easily pull able. I am in Canada and I say my cost for this repair using only oem parts, new or used is approx. 5k Canadian. Bumper cover. Rebar. And absorber Rad, Rad fan Rad fan shroud. Rad front support. AC Condensor. Hood latches. Hood Head light brackets Head lights. No sensors required. Cosmetic stuff... Grilles upper lower, fog lights. If air bag deployed.... Air bag(s) Seat belt buckle..(female only) battery disconnect cable.(that's why it won't start) Body work... Paint. Get a wheel alignment after all repairs. DN |
