BSW Stage One Speaker Upgrade - Wow!

My curiosity got the best of me. Glad it did.

Here is the post on my "sound upgrade on a budget" and a brief review of the BavSound Stage One Speaker Upgrade. And yes...it IS worth the money. Couldn't be happier with the results!

For what it's worth...in case you haven't already...you can go to BavSound's Website and read the reviews. There is at least one there concerning upgrading a non-Logic 7 Hi-Fi system with their Stage One. Before ordering, I also Googled "BavSound Stage One Speaker Upgrade reviews" and read independent reviews (mostly from forums), most of which were very good.

http://www.bavsound.com/Stage-One/St...Hi-Fi/Reviews/

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...pgrade+reviews

Note: It's questionable whether you need to change out the rear door mids, which would save you $100 (from $447 down to 347). However, the two mids are normally listed as costing $229 for the pair.

Hope this helps somehow.

I have the hi-fi option as well. BSW is now selling the front mid range & tweeters for $292. For an improvement over the stock set up this is a great price. I'm gonna give it a shot cause any other option(changing out amp, speakers ect) is gonna run close to a $1000.

My rear doors actually have mids and tweets in my wagon.

Hey I was wondering if I do the spec-dock, is there any reason to do the airenabler? since your phone would be on the dock and no need to be wireless? I would still maybe be interested in doing some kind of DAC, but that might not be possible without the airenabler?

I had the SpecDock and liked it but did not upgrade it when I went from the iPhone 4s to the 5S. I just used the Apple 30pin to Lightning adapter. For the SpecDock, I had to use the AUX input in my armrest because my car did not come with USB and it didn't sound ANYWHERE NEAR as good as it does now using the AirEnabler and Fiio E17.

The key element to improving the sound was clearly the Fiio DAC, which does not work as a DAC unless it has a USB input, which is what the AirEnabler provides.

And...of course the AirEnabler, contrary to the SpecDock, allows wire-free use of the phone while you're listening to music, which is great! Plus you can use other iOS devices with it, like an iPad mini. Movies sound awesome through this system.

How does the Fiio compare to the Sound Blaster X-Fi Go?
I want to use it with my Visseo tune2air

The Fiio is MUCH better. It is definitely worth the extra bucks.

The sound Blaster isnt bad for $30. While there is no denying the Fiio is much better its also 4X the cost. $Pay to play. Good review Isaiah5411 btw.

Thanks! When you discover something this good, you GOTTA share it, right?

The Soundblaster is a nice little piece of tech and does improve the SQ but I felt like it was mostly "smoke and mirrors"...more surround sound that made the music sound more open.

But...the Fiio really opened up the sound stage and made the sound more accurate. I noticed that before upgrading to the BSW Stage One Speaker Upgrade. The speaker upgrade and the addition of the sub took it all to a new level and I am now very satisfied with the SQ of this "modified stock system". I certainly don't plan to change the amp or underseat woofers. Equalizing the system with the Spectrum Analyzer app blended it all together very well.
