Need a sporty car to drive for ~1 yr with good resale value

Howdy folks,

I recently sold my GT-R and need a sporty/sports car to drive to buy time until the following happens (~1 year or so):

-F80 M3 lease rates become competitive after initial rush which I am being told won't be for at least a year after the car is released
-new Mustang GT 350 is out
-C7 Z06 is out
-next AMG C63 is out
-next GT-R is out

Since NONE of these cars are available today and I am itching to get back into something nice, I am looking at some cars to "hold me over" until the above conditions occur

In your mind, which of these cars do you feel will hold its value the best over the course of the next 12-18 months? My budget is flexible, it's more important to me I don't lose $10k a year in depreciation.

-E9x M3 (2008-2011)
-C63 AMG (2010-2012)
-Audi S4 (2011-2013)

I've driven all of these and each has pros/cons. Please feel free to suggest anything else! I am looking for something that has 4 seats but a coupe is OK. Must be RWD/AWD, fast, and fun. Wife said she wouldn't let me park a CTS-V in the garage so that's out too.

Why no CTS V? It's a hell of a car. What about the E63 AMG? About the same amount of ponies as a V. And much roomier than a C class

Why didn't you just keep the GTR? Probably would've lost the least money that way.

The S5 holds it's value great, but not sure if that's exactly what you're looking for.

the M3 is going to hold a good value. because its last of the n/a engines. mark my words.

the C63 is also going to hold a strong value. it is also the last n/a engine. that 6.2L is a HELL of a engine!
(how you will leave a C63 AMG and get into a new M3 is beyond me though)
i would pick one of those. one is faster one is more nimble. both have great sounding engines!

plz do not get a S audi. RS or nothing !

I dont think the current M3 will hold its value any better than any previous one.

I tend to agree as I suspect the positive aspects of the V8 (last one) will be offset by those put off by it's thirsty fuel consumption.

All cars are a bad investment, financially.

+1

An 'investment' that almost guarantees a loss in most cases. Trick is to minimize the loss like what OP is doing.

Good for the soul though.

Trust me the audi s4 holds it's value very well. Check ebay and you will see. I would pick up a 2010 S4 and loose 3-5k for the year max.

C6 ZR1? You said financially flexible. The ZR1's seem to be holding there value quite well.

A 2003 330i ZHP will quite likely be worth the same +/- $500 a year from now.

I second the 1M coupe. Sporty, comfortable, unique, and they seem to be holding their value very well. I don't see it depreciating that much over a one year span.

The 1M shouldn't depreciate, but I know a few guys that have had trouble finding buyers.

Garage List
Get yourself a red M6 GC with a light interior. Make sure it's a manual. Then sell it to me when you're done with it next year for $10000http. Canadian.

Audi S6. Tune it and you will have a luxerious rocket on the wheels. Your wife will love it because it s quiet and comfortable, you will love it because its fast as hell.

any AMG will depreciate like a rock. S4's seem to hold value better so I would lean towards that.

Will this be a fun car for a 1yr that isn't your main DD? Because I would just get a cheap STI or something since those hold value really well.

997.2 Turbo? That will be my choice. Unless you're talking about real seats.
